We know the official line given about not bringing food or drinks onto the Wishes Cruise. But we wonder if using discretion and generous tipping of the Captain, whether certain allowance can be made. Mrs. Ambassador can't last twenty minutes without a sip of champagne, and the little delegation must have their Wheat Thins and caviar.

What has been other's experience in bringing 'contraband' on board?

Hi Ambassador

As long as you don't make a big deal about it, you'll be fine.

Last year for my DBF's birthday cruise we brought a cake (homemade) and a small cooler with sodas, water, etc. We also supplied our own plates, utensils, etc.

On my cruise in Dec. the boat (the Breathless) next to us had champagne as the couple got engaged - don't know if they had their own or was brought as a package.

Have fun!!!!

Our TA told us to bring our own food. Nobody said anything to us. We had cheese, crackers, fruit and a bottle of the bubbly. We did tip generously, but mostly because our captain had just gotten married (we remembered how much a little extra money meant when we were first married) and he took us earlier than our scheduled time to depart. I don't think anyone will say anthing to you. They don't want to upset the guests, and they don't want to risk losing a tip. A think the generous tip would be nice though.
