Bring a friend AP promo

i saw an article earlier this week that there was a promo being run for annual pass holders starting August 11th to be able to buy one-day park hopper tix for friends traveling with them. Does anyone know if this is a same-day purchase or if it can be purchased in advance? We would like to purchase and link in advance so we can make FP selections, but I can't find where you could purchase online? Anyone know?

Only available at Theme Park Guest Relations or Ticket Windows.

You must be present and show your annual pass card and ID to purchase.

Tickets must be used ON date of purchase.

Hmm, my youngest doesn't have an AP, but the rest of us do (she just turned 3). I bought her a 2-day PH for $247 for an upcoming short trip... this is a much better deal. Maybe I'll save the 2-day PH for future bridging (etc) and use this promotion. We have FPs and I can just move the 2-day PH to a phantom. Hmm.
