This is another dumb question of mine. But since we're flying and can't stop at a store for food and water, can you somehow bring a case of bottled water from Costco? I've read people bringing a cooler with them full of food items. But wasn't sure if this is something I could do. Has anyone ever done this? I'm NOT going to pay their prices for bottled water.

Too many ?'s I have.

Thanks!:Pinkbounc

A case of bottled water is verryy heavy. What I usually do is place 2 or 3 bottles in everyone's luggage and just buy more water in Orlando.

We usally rent a car tho for our airport transportaton and grocery store/restaurant trips.

How are you getting from the airport to WDW? Many of the towncar services will allow a grocery stop. We used www.yourride.net on our trip last June and made a quick stop at the grocery store for a case of water.

I called my agent at AAA. I asked her who was our transfer company. She has yet to call me back! I guess she feels that since we're not leaving until Fall, she has plenty of time! I've called her on this one time already of not returning my calls.
NOw the rates at youride..is that from the airport to the resort and then from the ship back to the airport? Also, that price..is that p.person? It did say roundtrip, and wasn't sure what that meant. I would def. rather stop at a store to get our stuff. Will they stop like at Wal-mart so I can get all our snacks?

Thanks again!:Pinkbounc

The fee ($80-$90 depending on your resort) is round trip and is not per person. We stopped at a grocery store, but we did not care where we stopped so we let the driver chose. I thought the service with yourride was GREAT and would reccomend them if you have a choice. Any more questions, let me know (you can PM me if you want) I will sure try to help:D

Brita water bottles work great and could solve the problem for you. They're the size of a water bottle and have a filter in them; you simply refill them with any tap/drinking fountain water and the filter works great. You can buy them at Wal-marts and I believe I've seen them before at Targets.

If you booked a package through AAA, there's a good chance your transfers are through the Mears shuttle. No grocery stop with them, as you will be on a bus with many others going to Disney resorts.

What you'll need to do is call your TA back and ask about having the transfers removed & how much it will save. Then you book the town car service on your own. The more people you have, the better of a deal a town car is. :)

FL tours is a DIS sponser. I haven't used them, so I can't comment, but I'm sure others here can! Website

Water is heavy, but that being said I did bring a half case of water with me for our short May trip (just DH and I and only three days). Rather than the small suitcase i just packed the large one and it was very light for our return trip! The brita bottles work very well also and don't take up the space or weigh down the bags. You could order water form Netgrocer and have it shipped to your resort along with some other snack foods.

Hi bigsky ~

My family purchased a dream maker package through TA. I declined the Mears shuttle transfers, the cost was deducted from the package price.

We have used Tiffany towncar twice now & will use them again this month :p
(You can check them out at www.tiffanytowncar.com)

Anyway, all you have to do is request a grocery stop. It's so easy to stop at the store, make your purchases and off to your hotel you go!

20 days & counting! :bounce:

p.s. there are no stupid questions.

We always ship water and juice down in a huge box via UPS to arrive at the resort a day before we check in. It's inexpensive to ship, ( I ship it from work) and I usually find good deals on juice and water and stock up before we go, so it works out well. Also..netgrocer.com sells bottled water, you could always order from them and have them ship directly to your resort.

I think what we'll do is have a town car service pick us up. We'll stop at a store and get our food and water as needed. I'm guessing this would be the cheapest way to go?? I think we'll pack as much water with us without over loading us too.

Thanks for all your suggestions. This really helps with the planning process.

Before you pack water or other heavy items in your luggage, be sure to go to your airline web site and verify luggage weights. On Delta for example the weight limits are 50 lbs per piece or they can charge you a hefty fee which would outweigh the cost savings of brining your water with you.
