Brilliant Marketing, Disney!

Okay, i didn't read all the reply's on this thread, but all I have to say is how can you not go to Universal! (assuming you haven't been there before and/or you don't get to travel to Orlando very often) Universal rocks!-It is worth the extra money. IMO, a lot of Disney attractions cannot compare to Universal/Islands of Adventure. Although I admit that these new tickets are a brilliant move by Disney because a lot of people probably will skip Universal and sea world and all the other attractions because Disney makes it so easy to just stay with them.

My DH insists we stay at a Disney hotel, he doesn't like surprises. But the new tickets also punish those of us that STAY at WDW and just want a short side trip to another park. Don't they realize we are not abandoning them, but just want a little extra?

I just wanted to comment on this. We are Disney lovers but we tried a few days at Universal on our last trip (see signature). We stayed at Portofino Bay and it was GORGEOUS!!! We also went swimming at the Hard Rock Hotel and Royal Pacific Hotel (pool hopping IS allowed at Universal!). But the best part of our trip was the Front of the Line Access (FOTL) that you get when you stay at one of the Universal resorts. It is MUCH better than Fast Pass. Because really there is virtually NO line. I think the longest we waited was 5 minutes! Usually we just walked up to the front and were in the next car/show that was available. I would NEVER go to Universal again without staying at one of the hotels. Remember - this is coming from a Disney lover!!! Our trip to Universal was soooo relaxing. We slept in until we woke up - no waking up at the crack of dawn to do EE so that we could ride the big rides with little wait. We could go at noon to ride Spiderman and still only have a 2-3 minute wait. We swam every afternoon for a couple hours, etc. Very relaxing. I would try to talk your DH into staying onsite at Universal for part of your stay if you go to Universal this trip!!

they make it so easy to just spend your whole vacation at Disney, and not see the other area attractions.

After going to US & IA last year, I never want to go back.
It is so depressing, after we stayed 7 days at organized, clean WDW then going to US. I felt like we were going to our local Six Flags
park. :sad2:

I'm always surprised when I hear/read what Muffycat said because IMO it's sooooo not true. :cool1:
