Brightline (Virgin) Train to connect Orlando to Port Miami

The proposal to extend Brightline service directly to Port Miami was approved by the Miami-Dade County Commission. The port station is expected to be completed in 2020, in time for the start of Virgin Cruises at Port Miami.

In 2022, when the Orlando-West Palm Beach leg of Brightline is completed, there will be direct train service from Orlando to Port Miami.

Yeah, we'll see. They have now started construction of the Orlando-WPB portion, and they have all their approvals, so they should have a decent idea how long it will take. They'll throw the Port Miami terminal up quickly.

Of course, one hurricane could change the timetable quite a bit, but the depths of Florida winter are approaching so that shouldn't be a problem for the next 6-8 months.
