Briefly: will it be impossible to rent anything "good" for Oct 2016?

I think I fell for the "too good to be true" prices on some rental sites, and I assume the catch is that everything must be booked at the 11 month point?

Thanks in advance. (Good for me, on this trip, would be the Epcot resorts or other deluxes.)

It will be extremely difficult to rent anything....period. If you want to rent DVC 11 months out is almost a neccesity, Espically in the fall.

The prices aren't too good to be true. They are legitimate. However, they assume you are planning 11 months ahead, or no later than 7 months.

The "catch" is true throughout DVC, not just rental sites. Timeshares assume advance planning.

The prices are for real but you'd have to be pretty darn lucky to find a whole lot of availability for much of anything DVC during F&W only 3 months out. But there may be some holes somewhere. Most DVC members book that time period by 7 months or shortly after. It may come down to how flexible you can be with your dates and the size villa you were hoping to book. Studios are one of the first to go. You'd have to check with the broker specifically to see if they can help you out.

You might try redweeks or ebay. You'll likely need to find something already booked that someone either planned to speculate on a rental or something changed that they now won't use the dates.

Epcot resorts are booked for the most part for F&W fest at least 7 mos ahead. If you can land OKW or SSR now, they arent terribly far from Epcot. BLT also in a transfer will get you to Epcot via monorail. BLT though may be a stretch as well in Oct

Thanks for the additional responses. Sadly, I'm a former Floridian who still had the delusion of fall as being off-season. Har har.

DVC booking high season goes from September through January marathon. It doesn't necessarily correspond with what most people consider high or low season. For anything in the fall, booking any later than 7 months can mean lack of availability for part of the stay. Brokers and owners renting points are generally not going to waitlist for a renter (unless it's like, their mom).
