This was our first trip to WDW after several to DL. We just got back last night myself, DW, MIL, DS5 and DD7 stayed at the Poly Sept 28th-Oct 4th, 1st floor 1109 in Rapa Nui a beautiful remodeled room, didn't even request one and it was ready at 9am ......our first of many sprinklings of pixie dust. The resort is amazing the whole family loved everything about it. The kids really enjoyed Ohana's for dinner as did the adults and YES they did have the wontons that so many people seem to love.
On Oct 1st we put the kids in the Neverland Club which they both loved and the 3 of us headed to Epcot for Party of the Senses. The food offerings ranged fron chicken to wild boar to ostrich, scallops, crab, shrimp and pork and more. The desserts were simply awesome and Cirque du Solei entertainment was a nice touch. The wine choices were overwhelming, they also had 12,15 and 18yr old scotch and cognac and beer. A great experience if your into trying different things but definitely an adult experience .
We did the MNSSHP on the 2nd and closed down MK, it was more crowded than I had hoped but we managed to do everything we hoped for including Stitch's dance party at Cosmic Rays, the parade which was delayed due to rain, Hallowishes (no witch from the Castle though) and lots and lots of trick or treating and rides.
Some of the other highlights were the kids waking up on two different mornings, DS getting an invitation from Pooh for lunch at Crystal Palace and DD getting an invitation from Cinderella to join her at the Castle for lunch. Both of these experiences went very well with plenty of character interaction and good food .
The kids also got to ride up front on the Monorail, be Guest Conductors on the train and the best of all got picked from the audience to be part of the FotLK show where the kids dance towards the end. Do NOT miss this show it is amazing and worth the trip to AK in itself. Tinkerbell showed up each night and left nice little gifts for them to find each morning.
The parks were definitely busy but not overwhelming but ALL TS restaraunts were very very busy. We were on the dining plan and some servers were strict others very helpful and generous. We ate at Kona for breakfast and dinner both delicious, Ohanas as mentioned, LeCellier (sloooow meal), Mama Melrose for the FDP good food but due to weather the show was cancellled On 10/2 we went to AK and ate at Rainforest Cafe-get there by 12:00 and you should be able to get a table with very little wait, it didn't get reaaaally busy until about 12:30, food was better than expected and was a nice break from the parks. The dining plan is a definite winner in our books
We used DME both ways with NO trouble at all, I would definitely recommend.
DS5 talked about ToT before trip and couldn't wait but did not like it and was scared though we had told him what to expect. Only DS5 enjoyed Stitch's Escape the rest of us thought that they should just let him escape right out of the park. My kids are into thrill rides and enjoyed all of the mountains, test Track and DD enjoyed RnRC but once was enough.
The weather was typical Florida-warm, humid with some rain once in a while.
We had an absolutely Wonderful time. Any questions, I'll do my best to answer.
