Bridging to AP tickets

I will be purchasing 2 AP's for our trip in May 2012. Last time I saved some money buy purchasing a discount ticket from UT and then getting Disney to bridge the tickets to gate price before upgrading. I have seen some discussion about Disney may not allow this any more, can anyone shed a light on this? Is there any risk if I buy the discounted ticket and Disney will not bridge the ticket?

1- Yes.
2- That info was proven incorrect. It was CM errors.
3- Nope. Still works if you USE the ticket at least once BEFORE you do the upgrade.
Also, make sure that you know exactly the right prices before you go to the ticket booth or Guest Relaations.
That way, you'll know if the CM is doing the right thing for the upgrade.

Can you add water parks to AP or do you just buy the $99 annual water park pass? Yes I know about having your amounts before going, I learned that lesson the hard way last time I found out the the cs at Epcot did not know how to do that and I ended up having to go and untangle it at DTD

You can add water park fun to an annual pass for something like $160.. The result is called the premium AP.

If you want just the water parks and not Disney QUest or golf you can get the water park only AP instead.
