Bridging Parksavers tickets to AP - is this correct?

Awesome info- thanks all. Now if I could just upgrade to a DVC AP voucher to beat the inevitable price increase before we go next April. I will be there in August so could do the upgrade then, but only if I could get a voucher and delay the AP start date until April.

Another question - we currently have AP's that expire in November. We are going to let them expire and then buy new APs with start date of next April (we can get two full trips in that way in April 2016 and 2017). So .. can you get a voucher for a NEW AP (not renewal) before your current AP expires, or will they make me do a renewal? EDIT - nevermind. I think it's been answered that you cannot upgrade to an AP voucher, only to an active AP. If I'm wrong about that, please let me know. Geez, this is getting confusing.

This doesn't answer your question, but watch out for the blackout dates around Easter in April next year.

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. Regular AP, yes. DVC AP, maybe.
4. Looks like you are wrong about that.
5. "Getting" confusing? ;)

Below is from page one of this thread:
We can sell AP certificates at the ticket booths, so I don't see why we couldn't upgrade an unused ticket to one.
I've never tried it (I've only ever sold AP certs a couple of times at all, it's not a hugely demanded option) but they're in the same 'level' of the computer as the regular active APs...

EDIT: Just saw that this is DVC... I don't know if we have DVC certs in the system or not. I can check tomorrow?

Thanks, Robo. Ravenclaw - did you ever check on the DVC voucher issue? Appreciate your help.

Also, to answer back about DVC AP certificates - they are not in our system, just regular and FL resident AP certs.

However (and this was mentioned, too,) ravenclawtrekkie works in a Ticket Booth.
It is quite possible that Guest Relations locations DO have the DVC AP available for upgrade.
(Guest Relations have some options that a Ticket Booth does not.)
That's why I said, "maybe" to the upgradability of MYW to DVC AP vouchers.

I guess it's time to call guest relations.

Well then, let us know what they say.

Since the phone reps are not in Florida, no point in calling I guess. I will be at the world in August. I will go to guest relations and ask them then. I'll report back when I do, unless someone beats me to it. I plan to buy the Parksaver tickets and have them ready to upgrade at that time.

Like Robo stated..You won't have any issues.... I've done it already w/ UT tix, back in 2012...Worked like a charm, & I anticipate everything going smoothly in Nov. as well.

I am mainly wondering about the ability to upgrade to a DVC voucher whch I can activate at a later date. I don't know if that's been established yet.

Yeah, that one may be tricky. The only hope is being able to do it at Guest Services. It's been determined you can't do it at a ticket booth. Would DVC guest services have any answers? Are they known for more reliable phone help?

Just did this a few minutes ago at GR at Epcot IG. 2 new UT MYW tickets to 2 DVC Gold AP certificates to activate at a later date.
So, yes, it works.
ETA: The CM bridged them perfectly!

Congratulations. That confirms a few things - that one can upgrade to a certificate, that the the need to use a ticket first is no longer the case (if it ever was), and that bridging is known by more than one ticketing CM.

I'll repeat a caution I have given in the past, that International Program CMs at the GR desk near Innoventions tend to be less experienced, and hence may be more likely to have issues with bridging. This may be the one exception to The Robo Rule, which states that no location is better or worse than any other in terms of the chances of encountering a CM who isn't well-versed on the bridging process.

Awesome - thanks for the update!

I purchased a ParkSaver 7 day Park Hopper ticket at the current sale price and am planning on using it in February. If ticket prices go up during my visit, can I wait and bridge the ticket after the price increase or will the price of the tickets on the first day of use be locked in?
