Has anyone thought of doing a Bridesmaid Luncheon (get-together) at Garden View Tea at GF? I really got hooked into the idea of the Mad Hatter Tea Party for my girls, until I learned the price. So now I am looking at the Garden View Tea. Has anyone done this? Do they allow you to book large party space for tea and if so, how far in advance?
Does anyone have any other plans for their girls? We are having a girls / guys only day the day before the wedding, and I want to treat my BM and MOH and moms to something special, girly, and relaxing. It will be when I give them their gifts as well.
Also, what gifts are you giving to your girls?
Thanks!

I have been to the garden view for tea and it is lovely. Very feminine and alot of fun...we do it every trip! The only thing is the space is not that large so I think it would depend on how many people. Last year I saw a party of like 10 -so again it depends I guess exactly how large. The other factor is the tea is only offered for like a few hours so it would be important to book this way in advance. I would ask your em for help with this.

I think it is a perfect idea for a bridal luncheon...I will probably do the same. I would like to have approx 10-12 people as well so let me know if you find out any info! There is a menu on www.allearsnet.com for the offerings! :goodvibes

We had our bridesmaids luncheon at the Garden View Lounge where the tea is held. Some friends of my mom’s actually hosted it on our behalf for my bridesmaids. You basically have two choices: 1) you can book the tearoom as a private event or 2) you can just make an advanced dining reservation for your party size at the regular tea service hours. We had the room booked as a private event, so we had to have our tea before their tea service began. We had a smallish group—probably around 18 people total. Basically, we just used a small portion of the tearoom. I don’t know what the total cost was since we didn’t pay for it, but I do know that the room has a food & beverage minimum of $500 when used for a private event. We really loved our time here. The food was incredible, and everyone enjoyed themselves. I can’t remember the complete menu, but I know we had chilled shrimp cocktail, mini sandwiches (I remember a pear one, a watercress one, and a salmon one for sure), scones with cream, and a dessert (you could choose either mini pastries or English trifle). I think that the actual tea menu is pretty close to this as well. Hope that helps!

fmdelano - we are doing a ladies event & guys event too before the wedding on sunday, wedding is on tuesday. me, our moms, moh, bm & female readers are getting spa treatments done at the grand floridian (already booked with tom at the gf, i am treating) then my moh & bm is treating the buffet lunch at magic kingdoms's royal table for us (there still waiting back on my em to arrange). my fi, our dads, his bm & gm want to do the bay lake fishing excursion, were treating (waiting for the 90days to book) & then his bm & gm are treating the guys to lunch at epcot's biergarten buffet, theyre so excited.

i also looked at the mad hatter tea party & was sticker shocked so us gals decided on the spa & castle lunch which to me is just as great. as for bridal party gifts we are giving theirs & our parents at the rehearsal dinner. i bought my bp jewelry for the day & then one personalized gift each along with their hair & makeup that im treating. we also bought us, our parents & bridal/groom party personalized disney tshirts with their wedding roles & guest of honor badges that they can choose to wear a day on their trip.

I believe that my mom is planning something similar the morning of the wedding for me & my bridesmaids... just not sure what yet. This tea would not work though, it would be too late in the day. But we may get together for brunch or have room service brought to the room where we are getting ready. I just have to avoid seeing my fiance (he will be staying at the same hotel, just in another room)
