I need to start thinking of gifts for my bridesmaids but I dont know where to start. :confused3

It would be great if you could let me know what you got/will be getting for your bridesmaids. Or if anyone has any ideas, it would really help me.

Thanks

For the Flower girl I got her a rolling suitcase and lunch tote from the Disney store.

I got all the BM/MOH (and myself) a Lands End Tote Bag embroidered with either their monogram or first initial (if unmarried).

and necklaces to wear with their dresses:

I'm also going to make them sparkle tank tops. This is my design but theirs will say whatever their role is:

For the MOH's I wanted to get them something extra, so I got them Precious Moments featuring their favorite Disney Character.

I will also have some type of bridal lunch or tea party, not sure yet.

I threw around a lot of ideas, but ended up making their coats & muffs for them (not a practical idea, I know). I looked into jewelry/hair accessories and found some great ones at whiteaisle.com , thought about ostrich feather fans, antique purses (embroidered or beaded), or some sort of reclaimed item like Mdm Fortuna's things. We had a vintage wedding, so they all fit well with the theme, but vintage anything tends to be really detailed and unique (which makes great gifts!). The guys were much simpler: old fashioned top hats!

I cheated a bit - we are not having a real big wedding party, just a best man and what we have called a "best woman" - We ummed and ahhed for ages about what would be good to get them. We didn't want to give something that a) they wouldn't want to be bothered taking all the way home -with one coming from CT and one from the UK! or that b) they would put in a drawer and never lok at again, so, in the end, we asked them what kind of thing they would like.

She said some earrings - her favourite pair are a white metal and pearl set, and she doesn't wear big earrings. I have found, at a lovely real jewellers a pair of sterling silver natural pearl drop earrings, where the pearls are the same colour as my wedding dress (which is unusual as it's a coppery colour) so I HOPE they will be well recieved

He wants a watch, which is less specific, so I am still hunting one down!

I wanted something unique for my girls. All of us are very big Disney fans so the plan is (and I have started, but have not finished each of these yet - luckily I have until October!) a cross-stitch for each of them with their favorite Disney character on it. Also, each of them are getting a share of Disney stock (oneshare.com). I will probably do a little something more also, not sure what though.

I left the guys up to DF. He is still not sure, but I believe he is leaning towards baseball bats somehow personalized since they all play. But he very well could change his mind on that.

I was once a BM in a very extravagent wedding, so we got pretty terrific gifts. Each girl got a different color Longchamp tote stuffed with a velour Juicy Couture sweatsuit, tanks with "BM" "MOH" in rhinestones, earring/necklace sets from Swarovski to wear at the wedding, Ugg slippers , cashmere scarf/glove/earmuffs set (the wedding was in January), and a cosmetics bag with mini make-up. The bride's idea, she told us, was to use things we could use the wedding weekend, but also beyond. We all wore our tanks and sweatsuits as our hair/make-up got done, used the mini make-up for reception touch-ups, etc. I loved it! I used up most of the make up and ended up giving away the Uggs because I don't wear sheepskin products, but I still use everything else. I'll probably end up doing a similar theme when DBF and I eventually get hitched, but with less expensive products!

Never underestimate the appeal of the famous Tiffany & CO blue box! No matter what your price range they will have a gift for everyone, guys & gals!
Check out their website. I am buying my Maid of Honor a vase, "****" of Honor (his chosen title by the way) a heart leather box and by dearest friend who is our Officiant one of the Tiffany Keys.
Also, Swarvoski is having their annual sale with GREAT prices! Free shipping over $95.00 USD and everything comes direct from the factory in Austria. I just got my mom and close friend pairs of earrings as their gifts. And ofcourse, a pair for me. Enjoy your big day!!! Post photos!!!!:lovestruc

I selfishly didn't give my bridal party any gifts. Of course, I paid for their dresses, their flights, their hotel rooms, and their park tickets. So I think they did okay. ;)

When I've been a bridesmaid I've gotten great gifts and ho-hum gifts. My least favorite is jewelery for the wedding. I'm sorry, but it just doesn't feel like a real gift. I've spent money on a dress and shoes and for the shower and wedding gift, and the bride gives me something to wear for her wedding that probably won't ever be worn again. Other gifts of this nature include paying for my hair to be done or getting my nails done. Both of these are for the wedding, not really for me. Just my opinion, though. :flower3:

My favorite gift was actually a "date." The bride gave gift cards for dinner, a movie (with popcorn!) and Starbucks for after. I don't have kids so she also threw in a box of Godiva while the attendants with kids got baby sitting money in an envelope. I thought it was brilliant and really thoughtful! :thumbsup2

I wanted something they could really use- so i went to COACH outlet on their Labor Day sale and picked up BEAUTIFUL purses for them for a fraction of the cost. I only had two Bridesmaids- so I spent a little more, but they had bags and wallets there on sale days for under 30!

I am getting my bridemaids a Vera Bradley Cosmetic bag. I'm going to fill them with lotions, lipstick, toiletries, etc. Then I'm going to get the something monogrammed. I'm also getting them jewelry. I received cubic zirconia necklaces and earrings for both weddings that I was in, and I love them! :) They go with everything!

Thank you for your replies everyone. I think I've decided what to get the girls.

Now for the boys!

What did you get for:

The Groom
Best Man
Father of the Bride

Thanks
