I know this isn't Disney-related, but I didn't know where else to ask this question.

One of my bridesmaids (a cousin no less) dropped out last minute (today), and my wedding is 6 weeks away. I have a friend who could potentially replace her, but they are nowhere near the same size (the one who dropped out is a 6 and the new one is a lot larger than that). I called the store I ordered the dresses from who said that they weren't able to order another one at this date, because the 'arrival date' wouldn't be until June 21st, and they just didn't want to cut it that close. I tried convincing them to do it anyway, but apparently it's against their policy or something, because they don't want to get in trouble if the dress doesn't arrive (I get their point entirely and I don't blame them, it just doesn't make it any easier for me lol). I even looked for similar styles in the same color, and in their "in stock" collection, but they don't make any of them in the proper color.

Does anyone know of any places where people sell used/new bridesmaid dresses besides ebay? Or any stores that carry dresses in stock that I might be able to buy from them? I've googled a bit so far and found nothing, but I've never looked for stuff like this online before.

The dress I am looking for is Eden Bridals, 7311, in amethyst, probably in a size 20-24 or so (I'm just guessing, but it could be altered obviously).

If anyone can offer any help I would REALLY appreciate it!

Thanks!

You could try oncewed.com or recycledbride.com -- they're both sites where brides and bridesmaids can sell their dresses. I hope you can find what you're looking for!

How aggro! I'm sorry. Also it is ok if the boys and girls are of different numbers. Hope you find one and your friend is ok with filling in! :)

Thank you so much!

I just checked both those sites, and so far nothing at all :( I'll keep looking though

Is there anywhere else? Perhaps somewhere where I can post begging someone to give me one lol? ;)

Another possibility- is it necessary that it be THAT dress? Would it work to stick to the color and let her choose something more readily available and potentially more flattering to her shape?

I'm a big girl and that dress would not make me feel pretty. I would hit a big bridal chain (maybe David's?) and see what they have off the rack in her size in the right shade. Have another bridesmaid go along with her own dress or send a swatch.

I had an uneven number of guys and girls and it went fine. In fact, we have a super cute picture of my BIL walking out with my flower girl at the end. :)

Could they order you extra fabric and you could get the original dress altered?

So sorry you're in this mess!

Have you considered not replacing your bridesmaid?
I say this because it sounds like it's causing you stress so close to your wedding. If you have even numbers of bridesmaids and groomsmen just have the last groomsman walk down the isle with a girl on each arm. I've seen this done at the last two weddings I've been at.
Good luck - I hope everything works out!

Have you tried the store locator on the Eden Bridals website? I know that the boutique where I tried on dresses had mostly larger sizes, because they want more people to be able to try on every dress. For example, my dress I originally tried on in a 10, when I'm a 4. It was pinned back. You might luck out and find a store in your area that already has one in her size in stock. One of the other places may even be willing to order the dress on short notice.

Personally, I would just deal with having one less bridesmaid, because the stress of tracking down the dress I would need would have been too much for me.

I say just have one less bridesmaid. It's perfectly acceptable to have uneven sides. That's far better than having someone in the party that you really didn't want in the first place

PLEASE Google-"having more groomsmen than bridesmaids"
I found MANY pictures and stories from brides who didnt have even # of attendants......its VERY done now! :)

This is something that will(probably) happen with my son's wedding (long story) and will be short (maybe ) one groomsman. Its a garden wedding, and the last two bridesmaids will be escorted by one groomsman...no big deal

I agree with most of the posters above - consider just having one less bridesmaid. I actually had a "bridesman" (my guy best friend stood on my side during the wedding), and he walked alone down the aisle.

I hope you find a solution that works for you! I know this time is stressful, but you should also be able to enjoy it!

Good luck and congratulations!! :)
