Hi again Everyone,

Yet another question... Has anyone booked a Bridal Suite at the Boardwalk to get ready in?

How much did it cost? How many hours did you have it for? Were you allowed to bring outside food in? Did you get a choice of "Dressing Room Menus"?

Nikki

i had the boardwalk suite for the night before and night of the wedding. one night was free!! it is very pretty and yes you can have food from private dinning!

So... do you mean a hotel-room suite or a room in the convention center just to get ready in? If it's the latter, they make room for you in a small ballroom or conference room, and there is a food & beverage minimum, so you actually have to bring food in. I remember reading it's something like $500 :scared1: but I hope I'm wrong.

Sunshine - DF and I are staying in separate rooms in AS Movies before the wedding and then at AKL the night of. His parents are staying at the Boardwalk, so we didn't want to stay there the night of the wedding.

Lurkyloo - So , it's the Boardwalk Convention Center. I've asked my planner for info and she gave me practically no info at all. I think I have to use the Boardwalk's catering services and select from one of their menus. But she only gave me two menus, the cheapest of which was $28 pp for cold cuts, bread, lettuce, tomatoes and brownies !!

She also didn't say whether the $500 was the rental fee and then the food would be additional OR if the $500 is a minimum we need to meet with the food going towards that. (Yeah it is $500 for something - but it balances out. I won't have to rent a limo and I won't have to add even more time to my photography because of travel time. I also don't have to worry about my parents showing up to the wedding late- my dad is ALWAYS late for EVERYTHING, so if he is already at Boardwalk there can be NO excuses!)

I think I'm not happy with my planner. Especially after reading about everyones menus and cake fillings on the disboards. I just feel like I am completely not getting any information from her, yet they still want me to make decisions and spend lots of money. :sad2:

I'm getting 75% of the information for my wedding from you all. I am so grateful for you all. :worship: :grouphug:

i've heard that the closer you get to your date, if the conv center isn't booked, it gets easier to book it. weddings get bumped for conv's often since they make so much more money...i was quoted i think $1500 when i asked, but this is because there were like 700 conventions going on at wdw the week of my wedding. hth.

I think you are right... I booked it on Monday, but my quote for the rental fee was $500, which is being waived since we are ordering food from the BW catering people. And it sounds like nothing is going on the week of my wedding as far as conventions, so I got the room for about $250 for 12.5 hours.

I definitely think it depends on what else is going on there week by week or even day by day.

sORRY TO HIJACK BUT DOES ANYONE know if there is one at the GF?? After reading hope1826 PJ and getting her budget to 10300 for that amount of guests and ours is looking like that for only 30 so I'm now thinking of cutting all the transport as well

I had my bridal dressing room for free at the Boardwalk. I was told if I was willing to wait until 2 weeks prior then she could book it for me without the fee. She actually booked it right away, but it was with the understanding that I could get bumped. If I had wanted to secure it, then I would have had to pay...

I was fun to get dressed with all my girls and my mum!
