Bricks between Disneyland & DCA

i'm sure if they take out the ones by DCA...they'll put them back afte construction. or they'll just move them perhaps.

ours is kind of off to the side near disneyland. not in the middle/heavy traffic area...so that's good. less chance of it getting broken or getting gum stuck to it. i've even seen some of the gold things missing on some of the 50th ones. boo.

Id rather have the brick instead of the $ back. Im not sure how far out they plan on extending the entrance to DCA, but there seems to be a fair distance from the bricks to the current turnstiles.:confused3 Ours is closer to DCA on the DTD end.:scared:

I heard the new entrance will be where the California letters are now. If they need to dig up any bricks, I would hope they would just move them to a new location. There are still plenty of empty spots available.

I have 2 bricks, one of the 50th bricks and one regular one. I love visiting my bricks every time I go to the park! It's like owning a little piece of Disneyland!

We have 2 of the DL 50th bricks. One in honor of my grandparents as we had 25 family members on our Nov 2005 trip. The other is for my immediate family. The kids in the family love seeing them.

My birthday is coming and I think I have an idea of what I want now!!!! Or is that PLUS a DL trip too much to ask for? Couldn't be!

ACDSNY - hello to Elk Grove! I used to drive from Grass Valley to Sacramento area every single day for 9 years, just moved a year ago!

OMG I sooo want one of these!?!

ShawnaF- I do not think its too much to ask for! bwahaha as I am going to DL for my birthday and you better believe this brick will be added to my list. hehe

We went on an early Jan 08 trip to celebrate 3 birthdays in our family, so no it's not too much to ask. Adults only, so we were able to do the segway tour at DCA.

I called to inquire about a brick and if I purchase the brick before the end of March it will make the August put in date. That is perfect, as our trip is scheduled for the last weekend in August.
I have decided to go ahead and get one along with a replica and I will put all of our names on it. :cool1:

The best part is DH thinks they are no longer offering the bricks so he will be really surprised. So when our income taxes come in I will call and order it. I'm so excited:yay:.

Thanks for the backup, I'll surely print this out to show my husband! Lol...gosh, it I might be able to see the brick when we go in OCTOBER!!!! How cool! Never thought I'd be so excited about a brick. Lol!!!

Awesome! That sounds like fate to me...!

I'm buying one for my husbands birthday. He's mentioned it before but we figured they'd be very expensive so never checked into it. Thanks for all the info here! Now my question... what date to put?
Ill put the family name, our four names and a year. What year? The year we met, got married, first went to DL or the year I buy it? With the kids' names on it seems weird to add a date that is before they were born doesnt it?

He's a pirate fan... could we skip the year and put Yo Ho Yo Ho? I bet they wouldnt do that. pirate:

I want one for our fifth wedding anniversary. We honeymooned in DL. :)

That's what I was struggling with. I think I have decided not to put a date and just put our names on it. Trying to decided this without his hlep is difficult. They next decision is the acrylic or wood replica?

We got the wood replica and I really like it. It just has a nice, classic look to it. I think acrylic looks cheaper and dated. Just a personal preference though.

Is there anyway you can post a picture? I have seen the acrylic ones only.

I cant put a date since I was wrong on how many lines I could have. I will use all three lines on the family name and then the four first names below it. That takes care of that problem! :)

Just wanted to let everyone know: I just placed my order for my hubbys birthday brick (Yeah! Cheers!) and the gal on the phone really discourged me from buying the wood replica... she said she gets all kinds of calls from people saying they dont like them since you can barely see the words. Just FYI... I did go with the acrylic since she was so against the wood. ... and I did get a date, I just didnt get to decide on a date! I picked the mouse ears logo and it comes with the current year.
My hubby will love his birthday gift this year!
And if he is snooping on my DIS-ing... well he has spoiled his own surprise.

I assume the acrylic ones are just as tiny as the wooden ones, right? When we got ours, I was expecting something bigger...haha.

Here is ours. Not the best photo but you get the idea. The letters are hard to read in certain light because they are engraved but not colored in with anything...but I really like it a lot.

Everyone knows my name now. Please don't stalk me. :)

Thank you! I like it a lot...

I remember my DH saying he would prefer the wood one.

Teacups: How did you get a date on it with your last name, then all four names? I forgot about the logo on top of the brick:rotfl: part of me wishes I could discusses this stuff with my DH (after all it is for him).

Mrs. Bee: I would hope the only stalkng that goes on here, is reading the boards and enjoying Disneyland more than the normal person.
