DH and I are thinking of taking a quick getaway in November. He is in Chicago all the time for work but has never seen the city and neither have I. We are thinking of going to see the Blue Man group. We looked into to tickets but we do not think we want front row. But we really have no idea of what hotels are close or even on the right side of the city. We are looking on priceline for hotels and the name your own price. We have no clue on what section of the city to pick. Can anyone help us out?

I can't help you out, but I wanted to tell you that the Blue Man Group is awesome!! It was one of the best shows I have EVER seen. I don't know if it's true, but it looks like you could get splashed if you sit too close. You could see better if you sat closer to the middle of the theatre. You are gonna LOVE them!!!have a great time.

The website said if you are in the front you will be provided with ponchos. Having 2-3 days without the kids for the first time I think I could take a break from getting messy with paint and such.

Well, this has nothing to do with your question either, but I just have to say .. those Blue Men freak me out!

DD and I saw them in Boston 2 years ago........great show. We had side balcony seats, and was able to see everything. I think the first 6-8 rows got ponchos to protect them from flying paint, food, etc, but it didn't look like much actually went into the audience. No matter where you sit, you will have a great time. No spoilers here.... :lmao: :lmao:

Sorry I can not help with the hotel. Living northwest of chicago we have never had the need. But I do reccomend close seats. It is not real messy like a gallagher show.
We were actualy chosen to be in the show. we were the late arrivals. Aand as we were entering they pointed a huge paintball at us. But did not launch it.... Boy was I hurrying to get the poncho on. But did not realy need it.

We have been twice. They have realy good restaurants in the area. and parking right next door if you get there early. I am sure the lot will not hild the whole audience.

Have fun

I can't help with a hotel however, I do work for Ticketmaster. In Chicago the balcony seats are concidered "obstructed view/limited view" seats. Plus, they are folding padded chairs. They are only $10 less per ticket, so I would suggest sitting on the main floor. I believe the poncho section is only the first 6 rows or so. It is popular and they usually have 3 shows on Friday and Sat. 4pm, 7pm and 10pm. The theater is smaller which I like.

What part of town is this considered> ,Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area or

North Michigan Ave - River North Area

Any help would be great? Which airport would be closer?
My DH takes trains there for CSX so we are really going into this without a clue.

I reccommend Ohare airport (ORD). From there you go southeast to the exit nearest 3200 north (belmont avenue)

here is the theater/BMG site:

Mapquest page:

once you get to the mapquest page you can click for local hotels.

If you are realy looking to spend money you could get tickets for "wicked" (not sure if it is still running) the next night.

Also the Musueum of science and Industry has renovated the U505 submarine exhibit. It is all indoors and you can get right up to the boat and even touch it. Highly reccommended by me.
