Hi all. We are scheduled right now to do breakfast at Donalds in AK on our first full day. Since we are on the dining plan and we are getting in later in the evening the night before we didn't want to waste a credit on a dinner late in the evening. So we will be doing a breakfast and a dinner on the first day. I scheduled them far apart, but we do have two 90 year olds with us and they are more of the "eat bland" kind!

So we have a 9:15 at AK. We are staying at BLT, do you think I should try for a breakfast at Chef Mickey, Ohana, Grand Floridian(park fare or cafe) instead? We are on the dining plan, so any breakfast would really do and I don't want anything too fancy. Our DGrand has to walk with a cane, so I was wondering if a buffet would not be the best idea.

Do you think it is easier to just get breakfast at a nearby resort (or at the Contp? Hey does the Wave serve breakfast?) or just to go ahead and get to AK, eat breakfast and then enjoy the park?

Any suggestions?? thanks!

With keeping the elderly in mind, I would eat at the resort. By the time you travel to AK and get to Donalds, everyone will already be tired, hungry and possibly cranky! I know I would.

If you are going to have a car there the transportation situation will be a bit easier, that would be the deciding factor for me.

As much as I loved our breakfast at Tusker House, I'm inclined to agree with the PP. It's a long trek from the entrance to Africa where Tusker House is. I'd enjoy a breakfast a little closer to "Home" and enjoy the park at a leisurely pace later.

Thats kinda what I was afraid of too. That it would be too much to get them there without any food.

Anyone want to suggest the best thing at Contp or Poly or GF? I guess I better check to see what it available anyways!

W're staying at the BLT in Jan., also! I would suggest eating at The Wave. They serve breakfast. I personally haven't eaten there yet, but I've read alot of reviews and almost everyone is raving over it. It may be a little more quiet and relaxing than a character meal. Although my FIL is 86 and he surprisingly enjoyed the 'hubbub' and the interaction with the characters! So, you could also try Chef Mickey's, but it's a buffet whereas the Wave is a sit down (served) meal. Have a wonderful time!:goodvibes
