Brer characters greeting?

Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear currently appear in Camp Minnie-Mickey at Animal Kingdom on a recurring basis. They used to appear at the Oasis, but they were relocated to the Camp in February.

Brer Fox and Brer Bear appear regularly at the Sunday character breakfast at the Hilton near Downtown Disney.

Brer Fox and Brer Bear are also known to make random appearances at Epcot.

Yeah, the best place to find Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit is AK... I didn't realize Brer Fox and Brer Bear were in Epcot randomly... where do they normally show up? or are they part of the American Adventure random characters?

How strange. I would have thought the Brer characters would have been in MK, not AK. Just goes to show - you can never assume anything at Disney. ;)

still looking hard for the brer's. maybe i'm unlucky but i've never seen them at AK.

Don't worry, we have never seen them anywhere either. In fact, until a year or so ago, I didn't even know it was possible to meet them!

W ehave seen them at the front gates of AK and by the FOTLK...haven't seen them by Splash Mountain for a few years...and it is one of our favorite rides, so we spend a lot of time over there!

...or are they part of the American Adventure random characters?

Yes, they are part of the random characters that appear at American Adventure and World ShowPlace/Millenium Village.

They have also been known to appear in Future World outside Character Spot and Club Cool on rare occasions.

The "Brer's" (a couple of them anyway) did, in previous times, appear at the exit/playground area of Splash Mountain.

The thing about these characters is that I'd guess about 98% (maybe more) of WDW guests have never seen them before, and don't relate to them as familiar characters.

Disney refuses to release Song of the South in any form, so there is no
outside-the-parks reference to them in the experience of most guests.

Yes, I know that there are a few videos floating around from bootleggers or older non-US sources (I own a Japanese Laser Disc, myself) but most guests could not name the characters if they saw them in a police line-up. ;)

So interesting. I have been familiar with the stories and characters since I was a child - it just goes to show, once again, that you can never assume anything. Thanks for the interesting info Robo. I saw you had posted on here and jumped on :cheer2: ... thought there might be another map :lmao:

Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Bear do appear at MK in the Hoedown Happening. These are not regular meet and greet opportunities, so you cannot get an autograph... but if you're quick they do sometime stop for pictures!

I did see them both last week while there, both onstage, as well as backstage, :scratchin while on tour.
