Well, here I go again. Giving a shout out to the Disboards to see if anyone else here is as excited about the world of horse racing as I am. Probably not, but I figured I could post my picks for the 2007 Breeder's Cup races anyways. I had a random number generator make some picks this year too, to see which of us was better. Wish me luck.

I love the race!!!! Since I work near the track we were told to leave two hours earlly. I think the schools in the area are also being let out early at the request of the police dept. Seems that there are security concerns as well as anticipated traffic jams.

Alas, no. I live in Michigan, and it would have been a bit of a hike to get to Monmouth. However, I have been to 2 Breeder's Cups previously: 1996 at Woodbine and 2002 at Arlington.

I have a few in mind also don't know how true this is but someone told me Lawyer Ron had a slab fracture in his knee. I like him so I hope not!

Hmm...well, I haven't heard anything about it, and I am getting daily emailed updates on the top contenders' condition. But that does tend to be the sort of thing trainers keep on the down low. Personally, I love Lawyer Ron. I've loved him since the first time I saw him race (circa January 2006). I think he might have a hard time rating tomorrow, what with Hard Spun and Any Given Saturday pushing the pace. However, his trainer was quoted as saying that, if Lawyer Ron wants to push the pace early, that they're going to let him run (working on the idea that he lost the Jockey Club Gold Cup by wearing himself out on fighting his jockey). As such, I think that's a good strategy, and he's getting my nod for the win...although I think Curlin could certainly beat him.

We're not wagering on all of the races just the classic, these are our picks for Saturday line up. My mom found this morning in my dads sock drawer $1000.00 in hundred dollar bills she hadn't looked in that drawer since before he passed away. She had me run to the track and bet it all she put a $100.00 on all of them except the long shot she put $200.00 on the long shot!! 30-1 odds I hope he wins that would be really awesome for her.
