Okay, I know this is personal but I'm desperate. I'm looking for a good supportive nursing bra. For the past 2 yrs I've not been so lucky. I've been to MIMi Maternity and it doesn't do the job. I bought a really good one from Target, this one with underwire and now that I'm pregnant I'm getting poked everywhere!

So, please, please help!

Thank you!!!

It's been a long time since I was a nursing mom, but I loved the BRAvado! brand. They were a little pricey, but sometimes being comfortable is priceless!

I can only use this specific type from Motherhood. They are a sister company of Mimi. They are a silky underwire that has really good support. I don't know what they are called but I love them.
I have also liked the sports bra from Target but they are not fashonable.

I don't think this will help because I'm smaller chested but I thought the sleep bras and the ones without underwire were the best. I got them from Motherhood Maternity.

I used the sleep bras and sports bras too. They were much easier than trying to rehook everytime. I tried the regular nursing bras with my first and ended up loving my sleep bra more. With my second and third I didn't even buy any nursing bras just wore sports bras or sleep bras - so much easier.

I did a sleep bra early on, then I found time to go my local Lady Grace and I got a goddess nursing bra that fit. I think I have some Fancee Free ones too, but I liked the latch less.

I can't bear underwires though, so they were all extra-supportive softcups.

I always found some wireless ones at Khols that I liked. :thumbsup2

I'm a generously proportioned breastfeeding mom, and I only wear bravado bras. I hate underwire nursing bras, and sleep bras have NO support for me.

I have had great luck w/ Playtex bras.. they have underwire and then ones they call "underwire alternative." I have the latter.

I wore them for two kids (different sets of bras... they wouldn't have lasted 6yrs since my first!) and they were comfy and worked really well for nursing and for pumping. They aren't sexy by any stretch but they get the job done.

I didn't want any bras w/ underwires w/ nursing... wanted to avoid mastitis!

I third the Original Bravado Bra, I have one I got from target that isn't near as nice....You can buy them a few different places online.

:rotfl: :thumbsup2

Good way of phrasing it! :rolleyes1

There are so many things I like about these boards but I think this thread was made for me!! I am very generously proportioned to the point that I am probably not proportioned at all. I have been having major issues with finding the right bra. I did not really care but I go back to work next week and I am starting to feel a little self conscience. Remember the old lipstick commercial that said" Here comes Judy's lips?" Mine would say "here comes Sara's T@*'s"
Not so cool in the work place. So I am going to try the godess bra
Once again thank you for these boards there is a wealth of info!!

I really like the Bravado bras as well. Depending on how much support you need, I also fell in love with nursing tank tops. The ones I really liked I got from Target. They had spandex in them and kept me pretty well supported (I'm not tiny but not "generously-proportioned" LOL either). I liked the fit, that I could run around home with just one on and not feel "naked" and that they covered my stretch-mark covered belly while I nursed (the top opens like a regular nursing bra).

I tried ones w/o much, if any, spandex (like the ones I got at Kohl's) and they are nice but not supportive enough.

Have you gone back to Target to check out all the nursing bras? I know I had several different styles from them some underwire some not. I also had several from Kohls.

I liked the Playtex ones too. I liked their one hand hook. I also had a Leading Lady bra that I loved. It was pretty and really suportive. I think the best thing to do though is to try on a bunch of different styles until you find one you like.

For twenty years of having babies I did the Sears Bra shop. Everything up to even maternity girdle. Until you put one on you never know the support it gives.

I hate underwire bras and finally ordered 2 from JC Penney that are not underwire. Cant remember the name, but they have pictures in red and black on the inside of the bra (I guess for the baby to look at). Its hard for full figured ladies to find a good bra- especially in a store. I hated to order by mail, but luckily they fit AND are comfy.

I also like Bravado bras for sleep/exercise. My normal daily nursing bra is a Goddess bra. They have great support!
