breastfeeding in disney restaurants?

The only time I got dirty looks was from some obviously ignorant woman at Flying Fish. My solution to this was to rip off the blanket and give her the full show...

I have no issue with breastfeeding in a public place--been there and done that. But deliberately exposing oneself in public, just for the sake of trying to shock and further upset someone? I personally don't find that to be amusing nor even remotely appropriate. :confused3

Me either. I have no problems with women breast feeding in public, but I think that poster just illustrated why some people do.

I must say though that I had a hard time with someone who was breast feeding on my last trip. She was sitting right across from me on the bus, and I didn't want her to feel I was staring at her, so I tried really hard to look everywhere else but at her. So I kept looking at the people immediately on my right. Then I didn't know if she thought I wouldn't look at her, because I disapproved. Which I didn't.

Came upon thread and just wondered why the OP posted? My point being that if she thought it was OKAY she would have just done it rather than ask/seek permission from others. Maybe looking for support???
Personally, I find it inappropriate to BF in any food establishment while at a dining table.
NO, I am not against BF, did it myself. However I was always prepared, pumped and did what I had to do, to not infringe on others, which is what I think it is, as others may not want to "see" a mom BF'ing while they eat their meal.
Just my opinion, apparently differs from many and thats okay too! Once again, I am not against BF, think it is wonderful, healthy, bonding experience but think modesty prevails in eating establishments, regardless of the law someone quoted. To each his, oops, HER own, LOL!

While I completely disagree with you I wanted to point out that no amount of pumping would have worked with my children. They would not take a bottle. We tried many times and they would scream. So even if I did agree with you it would not have worked.

I think the point was (correct me if I am wrong) was that the Mom was nursing, covered up, and the strangers were being rude and giving dirty looks etc. Sorry but I would have done the same thing. She was being modest and unobtrusive but they were being just plain rude.

In another thread I just mentioned this, i was asked to stop in downtown Disney by a security guard, she asked me to go to the bathroom where "people normally do those things.".
I remember when I had my DD & she wa a few wks old, I was heading to the bathroom at the mall to BF her & my friend made a comment that will always stick in my head.
She told me to get out of that dirty bathroom. She asked me if I would eat my meal in the toilet w/ all those dirty germs? From that point on, I no longer cared where I BF my child.
I'm glad to hear that WDW is very BFing friendly.

So instead of just chalking it up to someone being a jerk, the solution is to be even more rude and obnoxious than the jerk??? No wonder this is a subject that people can't seem to discuss and actually have a hope of changing people's minds.

How about behaving in a manner that puts breast feeding mommas in a good light, instead of making them look like no class dingbats? You don't help the cause at all by behaving in that manner.

Fortunately, people are equipped with marvelous things called necks which enable them to turn their heads away from the "offensive" sight of a mother feeding her child as God and nature intended. In a restaurant ... a place where food is served.

I know- go figure that a baby shouldn't eat in a restaurant..

(*twirling hair* ..so like, what are restaurants for again?? )
