Just wanted to share how excited I was! I just got back from Race for the Cure. I have been secretly wanting Crocs for awhile but was still holding out. They had some there with a breast cancer design. I couldn't pass it up!

Please post a picture, I would love to see them.

I would also. do you happen to have any info on where we can order them from?

Just an FYI, I got a mailer the other day if you order at crocs.com/fall2007 and enter promo code fall2007 at checkout you can get free shipping until 12/31/07

Funny how this stuff affects all of us differently. I'm a bc survivor and I HATE the bc merchandise! If another person gives me bc jewelry, I'm going to scream. They mean well, but that's the last thing I want to adorn myself with.

I will try and figure out how to post a picture. They are not just pink. They are hot pink with a black strap and pink ribbon on it. I will work on getting them on here.

Here you go! My first try on updloading a picture!

Oh, wow. I sense a birthday/Christmas present for my mother right there!

I've often wondered how BC survivors would feel being gifted with some of this stuff - I have one friend I've wanted to buy something for. I imagine it's how teachers feel getting stuff with apples on it. ;)

OP - thanks for posting the pic of the Crocs, and thanks Lisa for the free shipping code! :thumbsup2

I completely understand. I was only 32 when I was diagnosed. So many people did not think breast cancer could happen to young women. For me, it was a way I could educate people. They would look at me with my hat on, holding my 2 and 4-year-olds hands and see my breast cancer shirt. You could see the light dawn in their eyes. If it made one young women think twice about a lump they found, it was worth it. Now that I am looking "normal" and it has been almost 5 years, this was the first purchase I made in awhile. I just couldn't resist!

Diznygirl - I had to laugh at your comparision. I am a teacher and I laughed at the apples. So true!

My mother is a 2x survivor.
She was 30 the first time (I was 10 months old and my brother was 3, for the other person who mentioned having their little kids and people being shocked.)
She was 38 the second time..
and her mother died of BC at age 54 (my mom was 29)

Breast Cancer merchandise is something I KNOW I can get my mother and she will love. She loves offering the support and being proud of her survival.

I can appreciate that others are different but I'd never dream that a survivor wouldn't like it. A good thing to keep in mind, though! :thumbsup2

OP, are these Croc brand? I wonder how I can find a pair!

Actually, I know many survivors who dislike the merchandise. It's not just me. There are different reasons for it. Some just don't want to wear a visible reminder of a disease. Others (me included) question the motives of the manufacturers. http://www.thinkbeforeyoupink.org/

That how I felt right after my chemo. But now since it's been 3 years since my last chemo, I find I feel different about it. I'm very proud that I fought the beast and WON!!!!

I've thought about that too. I understand the motives behind it - it's marketing awareness and both the charity and the company benefit.

Or, instead of buying the product I can just donate 100% of the cost to the charity.

I figure it's all good. :goodvibes
