BREAKING NEWS: Star Tours!!!

(I recognized your daughter. I've seen so many photos of her here, that I know her as Dances with Characters.)

Interesting ... I (and a CM I talked to) didn't know what anyone at Space Mountain (or any ride) could do something about the tickets - were they really validated there and also, did you get something like this at Space Moutain?

I found out at BTMRR that (I thought) the tickets weren't validated. I was told to go the entrance to get my ticket activated. I found one CM who gave it to another CM at a turnstile, and I thought that was it. Then, the first CM said no, it didn't work. She had to go talk to a supervisor in the little office shack, who came out and said that the ticket could not be validated/activated. I was given a fastpass card and had another problem at BTMRR, but eventually got a Fastpass much later .

I was also stunned that the "key" to getting in was a simple wristband, without any text or Disney customization. I was thinking that somebody was going to put a photo on twitpic and then ..

Yes at Space they gave us 4 of the special FP tickets. The CM also gave my DD 4 FP tickets for Space. When we entered DL later the CM there validated our tickets. He said he wasn't sure if they would work in the FP machines, but they did. ;) The Special FP cards worked at DCA as well.

At DCA now and saw Little Mermaid open! I thought maybe it was a soft opening. No luck, it is the CM preview.

I have heard, this is only rumor, that there will be an AP preview of LM coming up. One CM seemed to allude it will be a contest like they ran for ST.

We'll see.

Also on ST, a CM seemed to think this soft opening will be this and next weekend only. I though this is kind of strange because being an attraction CM wouldn't you know your work scheduled for this week and whether you are there to operate the attraction or also load guests? I would think the CMs would be talking and know how many of their friends are or aren't working. I'm curious if it will be open tomorrow.

We were there for the preview too, and got those FP tickets. Which was funny, because after we left the park and came back in, and my friend got his ticket activated at the turnstiles, and I used my AP to enter the park, we were able to get double the FPs. It was so nice to get FPs for our friends who joined us later :) We stayed in DL all day which was so nice because I feel like the past few times I have been we spent a majority of the time in DCA. & I finally got to meet Buzz & Aladdin!! & saw Prince Charming taking photos with Cinderella! :goodvibes

We experienced the new ST yesterday. We got in line at 5:08 p.m., and I sent a text to my friends when we exited at 6:04 p.m. It really didn't feel like an hour had passed! We were joking that the world was going to end at its predicted time of 6 p.m. PST, but we wouldn't be affected because we were on a Starspeeder. :lmao:

The version we had wasn't as jerky with the motions as the old version, even though we were engaged in combat scenes. Yoda was a fun addition. It's a definite MUST DO!

Over at DCA, there was a CM preview for TLM. We checked back later at night, and it was still for CMs only. There was a rumor swirling about that there will be a soft opening this evening for the public, but I can't confirm it. Just sharing what was overheard.

Also, they've changes POTC to include Blackbeard, who has replaced Davy Jones on the water curtain before the battle scene. It seems like lots of changes are happening quickly! Nice job, Disney! :wizard:

There is no soft openings, AP previews, or contests for the LMR right now. Got a report from a friend who is in DCA right now and said that there is no soft openings, AP previews or contests for the LMR. This is what they heard from the CM. It would be nice if they have soft openings.

As Sherry E posted several days ago, there are contests to get into TLM on June 1.

Dads particularly don't like to have their kids think that they are stupid. My son is a little peeved and thinks dad is a doofus because we waited 4 hours to ride it once when we could have rode it 4 times because people told him they only waited an hour.

Aww, he may feel that way now, but one day he will look back on this and see what a great dad he has for putting up with all that just so he could be one of the 1st to ride. :goodvibes

Confirmed today. AP holders were sent an email announcing AP only preview of LM 31st and 1st during the regular DCA hours.

"XXXXXXX you're invited to preview
The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure at Disney California Adventure Park during regular Park hours on May 31 through June 1! No need to sign up, just show your valid Annual Passport and enjoy the ride.

Plus, be the first to shop for the new
Little Mermaid Passholder Commemorative Collection. Stop by Embarcadero Gifts across from the entrance to the attraction for special merchandise—including commemorative collectible coins and more.

We hope you'll enjoy these special Little Mermaid opportunities—with our thanks for being a Disneyland® Resort Annual Passholder!"

I didn't receive an email, so maybe they were only sent out to certain AP holders?

It's possible, it came from Disney Destinations.

Either way if you can make it to DCA next Tuesday or Wednesday you will have your chance to see it.
