Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

Hi everyone! I have a question for those who did 2 photo shoots. Did you pay $25 for each one? Or did you have to pay $25 for the first one, and then regular price for the other. Thanks in advance.:thumbsup2

We had two photo sessions and the two fell on opposite sides of the price increase. I booked the first one as soon as my 30 day windows opened up. I knew the price increase was coming and tried to book the second, but they said it was more than 30 days out and I could not book it at that time. The price increase took effect on a Sunday and I couldn't book the second session until Tuesday.

When I called back on Tuesday to make the reservation I talked to the same guy and he said I it would be $125. I said "WHAT?!?!":scared1: I just called 4 days ago and it was only $25. He explained they had a price restructuring. I complained and was about to say forget it because he wasn't not at all helpful. He was very set on that. He then said since you have a previous photo session before the increrase the second one would be $75, but the second session would not be put on the photopass card. I again complained about not having all the pictures in the same place and not being able to add the enhancements. He again said there was nothing he could do and kind of gave me the who case attitude. He did tell me if I would have book before the changes I could have add them... I told him I tried to do that and you wouldn't let me because it was more than 30 days out! He said oh. :confused3 I was very flustrated after that call! I read about the $25 statement in the e-mail and was going to use it at the second session.

Anyway when we did our photo session the first set cost $25 and was added to our photopass card. She also asked if we had any other photo sessions. We said yes and she told us to take our receipt to the next session and it would only be $49. At the second session they asked for our receipt and it only cost $49 and at the end of our session they added the pictures to our photopass. :goodvibes

I think if I would have not mentioned having multilpe sessions and just used the same e-mail at both I could have probably gotten them both for $25 but I wasn't sure if the second set would have been added to the photopass then, so we just went with the second session at $49 and we were happy!

MickeyWanaBe, how interesting and glad it worked out for you. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to count on the correct information from each photopass rep. I just pre-ordered my CD last week for $99. To my surprise, my emails states my photo shoot will be $25. I called photopass and they confirmed with my email confirmation, it is indeed $25 for 1st sitting and $45 for second. I am anxiously awaiting 30 days out to make our appt. We are a grand gathering having photos done at Poly, hoping for late afternoon 4pm ish right before our Spirit of Aloha dinner show. I realize as a large group we may possibly require double sitting time. Until then, I am crossing my fingers my email is accepted as correct. :goodvibes

I called on Monday to confirm the cost for a second photo shoot for the Resort Photo Session FAQ thread and was told $50. This was also confirmed by a Photopass photographer.

I just wanted you to know so that you are prepared.

Thx, $50 if 2nd session is advised is still good to go. :goodvibes

However, some prices people are being quoted are a slightly OTT.

Just received my CD from our GF photo session and thought I would share some of my favorites. Luis was our photographer (he was great), our time slot was 9am, and we ended up with something like 75 photos. The sun was brutal that day and my husband's eyes are sensitive to light so he was having a really hard time keeping his eyes open despite Luis' best attempts to do so.

Hopefully, ours will turn out that good, too! Thanks for sharing them!

Thank you! We were on our anniversary trip (without kids)....I am hoping the pics we have taken with the kids (next year) turn out as good. Good luck with your session...where will it be?

I am part of a photopass share group but not the leader. Would I still be able to have the photos added to my photopass shared cd even though my name is not on the purchase of the photopass cd?

What options and costs would there be for me to do this with my family?

I have tried to read through the thread but with all these pages my eyes went bleary.

Cheers,

Brian

Unfortunately, we missed the price increase by 3 days (had not been paying attention to that part of the disboards), and so we'll be paying the new $75, so that's why I'm hoping all the trouble (finding the right outfits, giving up part of our day, etc.) will be worth it!
Again, your pictures really are beautiful (you should be very proud!)

POTZIE2: I'll try to answer your question, as I am in a photoshare, as well. It is my understanding that you order the photo shoot where you want it. You'll need to get the leader's confirmation e-mail from when they placed their order for the Photopass, and bring a copy with you. You need to look at the bottom of the e-mail to see if it says what the cost of your photoshoot will be (if the leader ordered it after 9/1, as our's did--he ordered it on 9/3--then the cost of the photoshoot will be $75; if they ordered it prior to 9/1, then your photoshoot should cost $25). Anyway, supposedly, it will say on the bottom of that e-mail confirmation. Once the Photoshoot people see the e-mail, then they'll know what to charge you. Does this answer your question?

Thanks again, BurleyGirl! GF is such a beautiful resort, especially for pictures. My only regret is that I did not ask Luis to do some photos of us walking on the beach...you know the one, walking while holding hands along the waterline (shot from behind). I also wish I would have just worn sunglasses during our outside, beach shots so they would have turned out (hey, sunglasses are a natural thing on the beach, aren't they?)...my husband's eyes were closed (or very squinted) in most all :sad1:

you should still be able,to get the shoot for $25,as the confirmation e-mail,is still showing $25.it seems, they have not changed,it yet.at least that is what someone posted yesterday, who had just recieved, the confirmation e-mail & it still stated $25.

i booked our shoot yesterday & they confirmed,it would be $25.can't wait:cool1:

Thanks, I have contacted my photopass cd leader to ask her to send me a copy of the confirmation. I am assuming that even though it's not in my name there won't be a problem?

So if I understand it correctly, I show the confirmation and then the photographer will put the pictures onto my existing Photopass card.

If you just had them take your pictures but didn't show the card, what do they do then? Could I still add them to the photopass cd when I get home or do they not give you a photopass card unless you purchase a CD?

Cheers,

Brian

Brian, I believe we should not have a problem with the e-mail not being in our names (I read that on the disboards, so it has to be factual.:) ) Anyway, that's the stance I am taking going into this thing.
Also, I'm not sure if they just give you a CD with your pictures on it, or put them on your Photopass card--I've read about it, but didn't let it soak in, as it was not a big deal to me how it's done, just so long as I get my pictures:)
I'm not sure how to answer your last question. Sorry...

I put together a FAQ thread for the Resort Photo Sessions. It is a sticky on this board. You can reach it by clicking here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1972651.

It should hopefully answer all of your questions regarding pricing and set-up with your photo session.

Good luck!

I pre-purchased my CD on 9/7 and mine still had the $25 offer. I would check your confirmation again to be sure. You might be able to get the lower price.

Your pictures were lovely even if he was a bit squinty. Y'all look great together!

I have heard from several people who have purchased this week that their confirmation emails are no longer showing the $25 offer. One such post is on the Resort Photo Session FAQ thread here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1972651.

Officially, the photographers are supposed to put your pictures on a CD that you will receive at the end of your shoot. You are not able to add enhancements to these photos. IN REALITY, most of the photogs are giving people a Photopass card with the pics AND a CD. You can take the card they give you and add them to your Park CD after you get home.

HTH!

My photopass cd group leader has sent me the confirmation. Where should it mention the $25 sitting fee there is no mention of the photo session option on the confirmation. It does show the date purchased as August 22nd, is that all I really need is to prove that it was purchased before the rate increase?

I still can't even book it as it's more than 30 days out at this time.

Thanks for everyones help, I really do appreciate it.

Cheers,

Brian

Your Photopass leader receives 2 email confirmations. You need the one that is titled: Do Not Delete! Instructions for your Disney's Photo CD enclosed. The verbiage is at the bottom in very small print.

The other confirmation won't help you get the $25 deal.

Hi! Just got back from the WL and we did the photo shoot there at 6pm on Sunday night. We were scheduled for 5:30pm but couldn't make it in time. As soon as I can get them up on the computer (and get over the fact that the humidity did a great number on my hair) I'll post a few of the better ones. She took 65 pictures and I ended up with over 105 after editing them via photopass. So this is a reminder to myself to upload a few!
