Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

hi everyone, I've lurked on this thread from page one and would like some opinions. my family and I will be in WDW in late April, and I am wondering which location to get this photo session at, if God willing when I pre-order my photo CD the $25 offer is still there.

Here are the pictures from our Sept photo shoot. We did two, one with my husband and I at the Grand Floridian, and one with my in laws at Wilderness Lodge. Both were great. We got the deal for 25, but would have paid 75.

We had our pics done last week at the Polynesian, and I would highly recommend them. I think our photographer's name was Beth.....and she was FANTASTIC. A real gem (she made it FUN for all of us :thumbsup2 )

Pics turned out very well, and we got 53 in total (of course, I've since tripled that or better with the borders on the photopass site :rotfl2: ). She used several different areas of the resort (along the docks, on the white sand beach, inside by the waterfall, on the hammock, against the trees, with the castle in the background, in front of the resort, in front of the coloured sails, etc.) so we had a nice variety of shots. We had the pictures done at noon, so it was VERY bright and sunny (we were kind of squinty in a some of the photos as a result) but overall, it was a great time and a fantastic value for $25.

Having them done at the Poly was very convenient for us, as we had a late breakfast reservation at Ohanas and just popped over for pictures afterward. They only had 3 sessions booked that day......I was amazed! Apparently they are not really busy there so you might have a good selection of times to choose from.

I will post some pics as soon as I read through the tutorial on how to do so.....guess I'll be making a Photobucket account soon. :scratchin

I'm thinking about doing this when we go back in August . It's been a few years since we've had family portraits done. But my problem is which resort? I've seen some really good ones at Grand Floridian, Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge! :confused3 Any suggestions? It will be Me (36) , DH (37), DD (14),
DS(10).

I can tell you that we did the Poly shoot and were totally disappointed. Had I paid more than $25, I would have been upset. The photographer was absolutelly awful. Now our shoot at GF came out awesome and we had a great photographer there. I think the shoots have less to do with the resort choice (because they are all beautiful) and more to do with WHO will be shooting your pics. It would be nice if you could request a photographer, that probably would have helped us avoid the wasted session at the Poly.

We just got back from our stay and had this done at WL. The photos came out great and we had Julie as our photographer. She made sure that the photos came out as she said that she had not done an afternoon shoot at WL before. We were able to get it for the $25 rate as we had pre-ordered the cd and had a copy of the email with us. We booked while at WL and were able to book one day out. They had it completely open from what I saw on their appointments book. We chose red for the photos and I'll try to link one a bit later. If we do this again, I think we'll go with white as it seemed to look better. It just happened that between all four of us red was all we had in common. We were pleased and ended up with close to 70 photos and received a cd and the photopass card so we've been adding borders to a few, but most stand out on their own without needing a border. :thumbsup2

I totally agree. We did our session at the Poly and were thrilled with the pictures. Had a FANTASTIC :thumbsup2 photographer (Beth) who made it a ton of fun, even for my 13-year-old son who would normally rather have his eyeballs poked out :crazy2: than sit through a portrait session.

Question

We are planning on having a photo shoot at the Poly on our trip that will be from April 25th - May 3/09. We were considering doing the photo shoot and then breakfast at Ohana's. How much time between each should we leave?
Should we book an 8am photo shoot and a 9am breakfast or later? We are a family of 6 going (2 children, 2 grandparents and us the parents). Or should we book the breakfast first and hope the kids don't spill and then book a photo shoot..

They tell you to allow 30 minutes for the photo shoot, give or take a few. I think you'd be fine for 8am photoshoot with 9am ADR's. Just arrive a few minutes before your photoshoot to take care of business ($$). I'd also tell your photographer you have 9am ADR's, just so they don't dillydally during the shoot. Usually it takes about 15 minutes after your shoot is done to quickly review the photos and then for them to burn your disc. You'll probably have a few minutes to spare before Ohana's (and somebody in your party can just run over and check you in there while your waiting for your disc).

And a couple more: (can't figure out why these look right side up in Photobucket but sideways here.....grrrr! Maddening! :confused3 )

Enjoying all the new photos ~ you all have lovely families :flower3: ! I'm partial to the beautiful Poly grounds, as that's where we had our fun grand gathering photo shoot. I get the warm fuzzies whenever I see the infamous Poly trees, as they bring back magical memories and I wonder just how many families have enjoyed having their photos done there?!?! :goodvibes

Well, I can tell you that our family was one of only 3 photo shoots scheduled at the Poly on January 14th. Our photographer said they aren't very busy.....still trying to "get the word out" that its an option over the GF.

I have really enjoyed all the pics of the beautiful families!

We are going to be having ours done on Monday the 26th at GF, I pre ordered the cd and book and I did not see anywhere on the email about $25 sitting fee, when I booked our session the cm told us that it would 75 since we pre paid for the photo pass cd......am I missing something?? Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying the $75 but if I could get it for $25 that would be even better kwim???

apparently the $25 wording,is not on the e-mail,if you pre order the cd & the book.it is only on the e-mail,if you pre order the cd,on it's own.
