I think the last time a grey won was in the early '90s. If I recall correctly, it was Subzero. 8 letters...like Pharlap. Grey....rare for a grey to win; but not impossible.

I don't think I backed it.

My parents were in sweeps. One got 2nd but was down $6 overall. The other with 3rd but down $7 overall.

As for me. All but $7 of my winnings just went to chittyrail.....sigh....one weeks travel on trains buses and ferries....

Mine's going into my 2013 Disney jar.

My dad is a keen horse follower. He would have backed Dunedan. I learnt to always back the Geelong Cup winner in the Melbourne Cup from him.

I know it's rare for greys to win but I do love them. Loved the horse called drunken sailor. :lmao:

I actually hadn't taken much notice of the horses this year with the Americain obsession going on. They rarely mentioned the others. I didn't realise I might be on a winner at first.
I used to be a fan of the Irish through the 90s.

It's the only horse race I watch. But it's a bit of fun.

So you do anything else today?

Americain won last year; which is why they talked about it so much.

Slept in this morning and then I cooked. Just loading up the pictures now. Watched the cup....yelled at DS to finish his homework....same old, same old.

Did Sydney actually get any work done today?

Making a funny from your snap shot of the winner!

Oh? Will you share?

Calling his nose a snort.

Not sure. Back is bothering me a little. I was trying to get the car smogged tomorrow. Not sure now.

I cooked dinner using a recipe from one of the Diners. Ricotta, spinach and mushroom lasagna.

My starting ingredients:

yes :sad2: I did work.
It was that crap 'yellow' bubbly to drink during the race and a cheese plate. So not much on offer to distract once the race was over.
Then we had a loooooong meeting. 3 bosses with 3 different agendas for us. :headache:
Started as normal with cake. I provided a store bought (although beautifully home made style bakery) baked custard tart. We take it in turns. I was going to make gingerbread but got lazy.
Anyway. It all went downhill from there :confused3

One is trying to dictate division of work by the number of pages. Even though we keep telling him it's not the quantity. It's breaking it up by logic.
Then there was the rant about quality  I know we aren't perfect but he got right nasty ignoring the good stuff.
Then the other. Coming in causing utter confusion. The last is a chief. Shareholder in the company. The three bosses then had a meeting after us demoralised souls left the table.

So it was the back to the grindstone and distributing some stuff to consultants. When my file crashed at 7pm I decided that was enough.

So

My day was loads of fun :lmao:
I mean my workmates really are great people. But this meeting was a serious downer we didn't need.

Are you sure you want to stay?

It sounds like whilst the workers are great; the bosses don't seem to understand the basics of what makes a good team and healthy working environment. :confused3

I'm going to have to go get ready for work tomorrow.

Take care all...sleep well! :cloud9:
