Breaking Down The Show Breakdowns

I prefer the current way they do it. I download the shows manually through the RSS feed and can order them myself how ever I want to. I'd rather be able to skip segments I don't like or skip to one I am more interested in.

I have to agree 100% with the OP. I am finding it more difficult to listen to the shows in this way. It seems more overwhelming having all of these separate segments to listen to. In fact, I tend to get behind on the shows as a result of the current format. This was never the case with the longer ones. I really miss the longer format, but I know you can't please everyone, too.

Prefer the old format and keeping the DL info separate for those who care to listen to that information. Personally I delete all of those (I have auto DLing) as I have no need to listen to them, others may.

I prefer the short shows since they are small enough for me to be able to download on my iPhone without a WiFi connection. I do not like the fact that you have to listen to the open/closing music plus a full intro every time. I think just opening with "Welcome to part 2 of today's podcast" would work fine.

But, then I wouldn't have the opportunity to dance during each podcast! :rotfl:

I enjoy the segments. I like to go back and listen to certain segments over, and this makes it easier to find them.

I personally enjoy the podcast either way! The good thing about the shorter format is that I know which parts I want to listen to right away, then when I am needing a Dis Unplugged fix toward the end of the week, I listen to the others.

Either way, I just appreciate the podcast team and all that they do to get information to us!

I like the new format. I listen to my favorite segments first and then the rest time permitting. An enhance podcast could make everyone happy but I think that involves more work or is more difficult for the podcasters?

Here here, I completely agree. I'm immensely grateful for the show they put on no matter what the format. It's fantastic of them to take the time to do that for us Disneyphiles.

I don't want the crew to think I was complaining, just voicing an opinion. Plus, I totally know that it's their show and they can do what they want.

I also wanted to add that the segments cut the natural flow of the show.

Me too. I'm not sure why, but I'm behind on shows and that never happened before. It's kinda weird. I was just going down the Listen Now list and realized there are two segments I never listened to. :confused3

Please keep it the way it is!! The reason some are falling behind is because we're actually getting MORE listening time than with just one show which is always a good thing IMO!

Even though it gets a little tiring listening to the intro and exit 8 times I LOVE being able to pick and choose what segments I listen to. More often then not, I listen to them all, but when something is talked about that doesn't hold a lot of interest for me it's SO much easier just to skip it rather than trying to figure out how to fast forward through it on my iphone.

Completely agree, I don't understand why but I find the new format more difficult. I know it sounds silly, but I really prefer the old format. I still listen to everything, but I find that I run 2-3 weeks behind...not sure why, it's just happening!

I subscribe to many different podcasts (Disney and otherwise) and I much prefer the new format over the old.

It's much more convenient for me to listen to the individual episodes one at a time as they fit in my schedule - while driving, grocery shopping, at night before bed, or instead of the radio during my morning routine. The old way with the single megashow format often delayed my listening because I wanted to listen to it all in one setting so as not to have any "leftovers" where I might forget that I hadn't watched the whole thing and miss the rest of the show.

I also appreciate that each show is a single subject so that if the particular topic does not interest me personally, it's easy to skip over that one and move on to the next segment.

Agreed with longer show.

I listen to the show as I fall asleep.. I'll be just about out when the segment ends and I have to unlock my phone and start the next one. Or I'll listen at the gym or outside on a run. The segments end about halfway through and I'm struggling to find the next one.

This may be more user error (ID10T anyone?) but I had a system before and this interrupts it! And, not to offend anyone, but I always skip through the intro music. For some reason it hurts my ears :confused3

I loved the old format, it's how I was introduced to it. The new format was a little weird to get used to, but now I love it! I never got to listen to the podcast in one shot. I don't have an hour or 2 to carve out once a week to listen to it, and I'd always have to try and remember exactly where I left off. With the new format, I can listen to one segment, and a day or do later, listen to the next one, and so on. It helps me spread it out over the week, so I get a little of the group every day. Not like downloading separate segments is difficult, iTunes does all the work LOL.

me three.... :)

I prefer the current format over the old format.

I love the show, but honestly, there are segments that aren't of interest or relevant to DW and I, this allows me to skip those segments. It is also a snap to download like this. I keep segments on iphone/Ipad to listen to again more than I did "lump" shows.

Just my 2 cents.

I am just grateful that the podcast team makes time to record every week.

While people are making good points about skipping the segments they aren't interested in (I do it, too), I think the flow of the show is disrupted. A lot of the jokes that randomly come up in a long show (tutus, etc.) aren't happening as much, or if they are, a bunch of us are missing them.

Yeah, that.
