no news ling that was all the details o got so far it will be done by christmas i was told this by staff in the hotel

The move of the Concourse Steakhouse makes a lot of sense. It really has pretty poor atmosphere where it is now, a pimple on the side of Chef Mickey's.

I have a ressie for the Concourse in September. I wonder if that will affect it any? :confused3

I was thinking the exact same thing as my husband and I also have ADRs to eat here on our upcoming Sept trip.

Would be interested to hear any additional details anyone might have.

I have one for Nov and I'll be realllllllly upset if I can't get my Eggs Benedict.

Didn't Chef Mickey's and Concourse Steakhouse share a kitchen? They'll have to build a new kitchen. Or use that lame one at the Food and Fun area.

Doesn't sound like a good move to me. The Concourse won't be on the concourse anymore.

I think that's one of the best aspects of the move, though. They could always change the name, eh?

So does the arcade move, too? I can't see having a nice sit down restaurant right next to Bing-bing-bing!!. And then it seems like there will be way too much room for the Concourse.

I hope it's just a rumor and not fact.

Yeah, that would kind-of defeat the purpose for the move, from my perspective.

As some one has already said, this is old news/rumor. At least six months old.
But this version makes more sense than the original. The Fun Center was rumored to be relocated to the Grand Canyon Concourse, with the Concourse Steakhouse to be moved to the first floor. It made no sense to me to locate the noisy (at times), 24 hr arcade in the concourse. Locating the arcade on the third (or second?) floor, and utilizing some of the original CR convention space is more logical to me.
Maybe the Steakhouse will actually be relocated to where the old Gulf Coast Room was on the second floor.

Just some random thoughts on the ever evolving Mouse. :)

So, I can't picture it. . help me out. What would the atmosphere surrounding Concourse be now? We just found it this past trip and it's now one of our favorites. Help!

I thought the same thing when I first heard this rumor. I would imagine that the kitchen is still there, or at least the MEP required to put it back. I never understood why they closed what was then the premier place to eat at WDW.

What's going where the Concourse Steakhouse is now? Is Chef Mickey's expanding?

Does this mean they are getting rid of thre pin trading altoghter at CR/
We love going here for pin trading on Friiday nights.
I finally made resservations to stay here fo r our September trip but if all this is going on I may switch.

Are the Food & Fun & the Concoarse going to be closed drung all this?
Whan is it starting?
Will the pin trading station be gone for good?

Any help would be appriciated.

The opening of the GF probably brought about the closing of Gulf Coast. GC closed 5/88, GF opened 6/88. Before the GF, the Empress Room on the Lilly and the Gulf Coast Room were the premiere restaurants at WDW, after 6/88, Victoria and Alberts took over that spot, and is the only eatery at WDW still requiring jackets. IIRC
Around the same time(1988-89), The Pueblo Room and Cocino Cove were closed and the area was swallowed up by what is now Chef Mickey's. :sad2:

I wouldn't change any plans. These are just rumors right now, with nothing officially announced. Especially considering the fact that Steakhouse is still accepting reservations for September, I am sure that no work will be taking place then, if it ever will. As for the pin trading station, I doubt Disney would ever completely eliminate such a lucrative kiosk when there is so much room to put it at the resort.
