Breakfastosaurus: early or late

I've read mixed advice on the Breakfastosaurus character meal, so I thought I'd try and solicit some opinions.

First, let me say we ate there in May/01 and DW and I were not too impressed. Felt very cramped at the table. That said, it was at the end of a busy-busy-busy 8-day trip so we might have been a bit grumpy!

That said, Breakfastosaurus is again in our lives - it has been requested by DS since it has all of the characters he really wants to see: Donald, Mickey, Goofy, Pluto.

So, we want to improve the chances of him getting a good experience - nice interaction, autographs, pictures, etc. (Note, we have two kids: DS is 8, DD is 6).

What's the consensus - try and get earliest seating and linger? Or try to get latest and hopefully the restaurant will have quieted down?

We will be there in mid-October. We don't need to use this meal as a means of entering the park early (although I really like that touring plan and might do it another time) since we will be spending a different day at AK. Primary goal for this meal: eat, and good characters. Don't want to feel we have to fight for their attention...

TIA, Jeff

We like early. We like to get a PS for 8:10 on a non EE morning. you need to be at the park by 7:45 or so and go to the PS entrace. Around 8:00 they start calling families according to their PS times and arrival. You get a personal escort though the empty park and to the resturant. Pictures are taken and you are seated. Our waitress was great and we found the food hot and fresh. The characters were some of the best we have seen at any CM. The whole meal with no rushing lasted about 45 minutes and put us in the park right at a 9:00 opening. We then enjoyed dinoland with no crowds or waits.

We had a PS for 8:10 am and found the whole experience very rushed. Our CM led us to our table and then told us we should go get a donut or some fruit because if we got in the buffet line we would miss the characters. The characters only came by once and they were in such a hurry they were running into each other. Of course this was in June so maybe in October things aren't so nuts--although all the other character meals we did during our visit the characters were able to come by our table 3 or 4 times.

We had an 8:10 PS last August and it was wonderful. We were in the airstream camper booth and felt like we had the characters to ourselves. I usually like a late PS but have booked Donald's again for 8:10.

We have always went for the 8.10 ps. The food has always been plentiful and fresh. Last year we had excellent character interaction with all the characters except Donald, that being said he made an appearance just as we were getting reading to leave and DBF, who is 34 and only likes Donald, got his photo opportunity.

My younges son (11) and I will be doing this breakfast when we go in Nov. the rest of the family said they are sleeping in :p He really wants to see Donald and when we went in 2001 we didn't see him at all (all 4 parks).
Bobcat what is a airstream camper booth???

TIA

We arrived about 10 minutes before they stopped seating. It was GREAT!! There was no one in line for the buffet, they were still putting out fresh food, and the characters all came aroud several times. The last time they were all together, goofing around and helping DS eat his pancakes!! It was definately the best character meal we had!

I would ahve to say last seating. I had the best time (late Sept) and lots of character interaction. They came by twice and hung out. It wasn't crowded, the food was hot and plenty of it.

PigletsPal as you walk up to the restaurant you can see an airstream camper attached to the side of the building. Inside they have made it into seating for the restaurant. There are two large u-shaped booths that seat 6 people, one on each end, and there is a jukebox between them. We felt like we were all alone and when the characters came they played with a lot of the stuff in the camper and spent quite a bit of time.

rjordan the PS entrance will be marked and is just one of the regular turnstiles into the park.
