when staying on site ... at the 3 hotels.... where do you go for your fav breakfasts if going out to eat................

I like the buffet breakfast at The Islands Dining Room at the Royal Pacific. It has a nice islands flair to it. Have it late and it will serve as breakfast and lunch!

I would never go offsite for breakfast.

The breakfast croissants at Boulangerie are also yummy.

i hit the island dining room for the breakfast buffet.
it opens early and i'm still able to hit early entry for ioa.

did try a few other places for b'fast over the years, but my favorite is islands.

on days i skip breakfast, i eat lunch in the parks.

it's only on vacations that i eat breakfast.
usually skip it when i am home.

if you want something light for breakfast, Orchid Lounge Court in the lobby at rph is really a good deal.

i have done that on some occassions.

it opens at 6:00 am and is cheaper than the Islands for breakfast.

it's all ala cart.
includes most basic breakfast foods.

We go to Islands Dinning Room for the buffet on our extended trips. We will hit it a few times. Like this weekend we will hit the Orchid Lounge for something quick. We also have had breakfast at Bulgaria and Croissant Moon. Sometimes we will hit Burger King in Citywalk, too many choices.

thanks for all tips regarding breakfast , especially the islands dining ...
I will pass the info on... we are a group of 6 families ... but all going at different times during the coming summer months to stay onsite Universal this year ..since none of the families have ever been to universal resort/area .. some have not gone to disney as well.... you can imagine the questions flying around..so to supplement the googling....
I know where to go for answers !!!!

is it like disney where you have to book way ahead for reservations for this place... or will reserving the day before suffice...(unheard of at disney ...to get what you want.)

You don't need reservations for breakfast but you can certainly make them the day before if you like at the hotel. Better safe than having to wait for a table. You can't always make reservations for breakfast on opentable.com unless it is expected to be very busy like for Mother's Day.

Bulgaria? Long way to go for breakfast!!!

We went with extended family, staying at HRH in November. We had the breakfast package. Even though it says that it covers breakfast for two adults, they actually give you a $60 credit. The breakfast buffet costs $20 per adult and kids are $5/$10. It's $5 before a certain time. So, we paid nothing other than a tip. The buffet was great at the Kitchen. They have the biggest variety of any breakfast buffet I have ever ate at. My MIL still talks about the incredible selection and how good the buffet was. She also loved HRH.

If you don't care about calories there is Cinnabon in IOA too.

I'm a tea drinker and a scone lover so I head for Starbucks in Citywalk or the Studios.

only issue with doing breakfast at city walk is they open at 8:00.

messes up park early entry if that is your goal.

There are many places to eat breakfast, if that's what you really want to know.

Each hotel has a buffet breakfast as well as a la carte items in another location (Orchid Court Lounge at RPR, Emack and Bolios at HRH and Sal's Deli at PBH).

In Citywalk there is Starbucks, Pastamore, Burger King I think has some offerings, and Cinnabon.

IOA has Croissant Moon and Cinnabon and there are carts in the Wizarding World with fruit plates and small pastry items.

Universal has Boulangerie and the character breakfast at Cafe la Bamba.

You can view the menus for all of these places in the food sticky.

We always do Boulangerie in US and CMB in IOA. Love to watch the people running to the rides while we relax! :)

your opinions please...
between the kitchen (at HRH) and the islands (at RPR), which would you choose for breakfast buffet.....in terms of more bang for your money and the varieties and service.

Kitchen has standard breakfast buffet offerings. Islands does as well but has other things with a South Pacific feel like Hawaiian pancakes, orange french toasts, etc.

It all depends on what your family likes.

You can order off the menu for breakfast as well if you don't want the buffet.

Islands dining is all inside the restaurant.

Kitchen has an outdoor patio besides indoor room.
you can eat out on the patio as wait staff will tend to you there.

both restauants have a chef for the egg station.
