Breakfast Suggestions?

My mom and I are coming down for DAP weekend. Our ME bus will arrive at All Star Sports super-late on Thursday, and we're moving to Animal Kingdom Lodge on Friday. Since the QS location as Sports is closed, we won't be able to have breakfast there before moving ... probably a blessing in disguise ;)

We have breakfast at Boma planned for later in the weekend, so I'm looking for somewhere else to have a breakfast that morning.

How early can we give our luggage to Bell Services at Sports to bring over to AKL?

Anyone have any good sit-down breakfast suggestions, not requiring park admission?

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

Bell Services opens around 6 or 7, if I am remembering correctly. They can take your luggage for transfer to the resort once they are open.

I wrote about resort hopping as a blog last year. Here's a link to the article in case you're interested. It really was easier than I ever thought it could be!

My favorite breakfast has always been at Kona Cafe. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmo!

Thanks, Nikki -- I'm going to read it a couple of times and think it all out :goodvibes I have done a split stay before, but it was just going from Jambo to Kidani, so I really didn't leave property.

Never had breakfast at Kona. Right now, it's probably between Kona and The Wave (they have multigrain waffles & french toast, which my mom will love). I'm also thinking of moving Boma to Friday morning, and putting Kona or The Wave into Sunday morning's slot.... which could also change, depending on when the Podcast recording will be.

You are very welcome! I am glad to hear it! I was nervous myself before I did a split stay and found it painless. I'm doing one again in April. :goodvibes

We have done many, many splits stays over the years and it is typically a very easy/painless experience. If Bell Services moves your luggage, it may take until about 4pm to receive it. So just make sure you have what you need for the day before you hand it off.

Breakfast- Kona is wonderful. The Wave gets mixed reviews, but breakfast is almost always stated to be their best meal. We have had dinner there twice, and it was fine, nothing spectacular, but not horrible either.
We also like Kouzzina over at the Boardwalk- it is very good.
We think Olivia's at Old Key West is the best!

Think about where you are spending the rest of the day and plan from there.

Oooo forgot about Olivia's! One of my favorites!

We like Fresh at the Dolphin. Love Olivia's also. I think the boats from OKW to DTD start around 11. Just another idea for a non park day.

Would you be interested in doing a character breakfast? The character breakfast at Chef Mickey's is great!

Hi everyone, and thanks for the great suggestions! Since our plans have changed somewhat, we're going to have breakfast at The Mara Friday (after moving from Sports to AKL). Saturday, we're doing Boma, and Sunday, it'll be The Wave. I showed my mom the menu and she was thrilled! :goodvibes
