Breakfast or Lunch at Tusker House?

We are only going to AK on one day of our trip. I want to do the Safari as soon as we arrive so I’m wondering if a 10:20 ADR would be good or stick to lunch? I heard lunch wasn’t as busy as breakfast so you had more character interaction but then I heard breakfast was better food.

I recently had a 10:15 ADR and loved it. Granted I love breakfast food, we thought the time was great. We were able to make 2 trips to the breakfast buffet and then also enjoy the beginning of the lunch foods. It didn't feel too busy at all for us and we had no problem with character interaction!

We had a lunch there, and sadly, all agreed not to eat there again. We did have breakfast there in the past, that we generally enjoyed. We went there during Christmas week, so busy restaurant. We had the characters visit us, one twice.

I hope you enjoy whatever time meal you have, and I am sure you will have time with the characters.

I wouldn't count on that. We once had a 11:00 am lunch reservation (I deliberately booked lunch as I'm not a fan of breakfast buffets) and none of the lunch food was out when we were seated. The lunch food wasn't switched over for a good 20 minutes after that. I would be prepared to sit at TH for quite a while if this is your plan.

OP, we prefer the lunch. There is a much better variety of food. I'm not a fan of paying premium prices for salty eggs and plain bagels.

We're doing the ROL TH package on Jan 19, reservation is for 10:40am. Was hoping to get both breakfast and lunch items, but if it doesn't happen, no big deal, we can roll with it. This was booked more for characters, ROL seating, and atmosphere, not strictly for the food.

Schedule your breakfast for as close to the lunch time as you can. It slows down a lot and with so few people in the restaurant the character interaction goes way up. We once had Goody sit down with us and pretend to eat.

We did the ROL package in early June. Remember that you do get ROL seating in a special section with the package but get to the check in area early. It fills up fast. Cheers!!!!!!

Yep.

Lunch/dinner food is far more interesting and worth it. Breakfast is breakfast.

We actually want breakfast but since lunch starts at 11, I think your experience is an anomaly. Many, many people state that full lunch is out by 11, or a few minutes after, and breakfast continues for a bit too.

I'd love to hear about the lunch spread and character interaction since we have a lunch reservation there for our trip in May. It makes me happy to hear it may be less crowded at lunch.
