I'll be making my ADR's tomorrow (wish me luck) and am starting to second guess myself. I'll be in the parks 4 days and want to do a character meal each day. Originally was gonna do 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners. Is breakfast a waste of good park time? The breakfast meals sound better, but I don't want to be stuck in a restaurant during premium park time. What do you think?

I love breakfast character meals, and we've done most of them. Since we are early risers, we do an 7:30 or 8am bfast before the park opens. We've done tusker house before AK, Akershus before Epcot, Crystal Palace before MK and H&V before DHS rope drop at 9am. Other times we've done breakfast at 7:30 at Ohana's and Cape May Cafe. Or you could try it at Chef Mickey or CRT.

I've never done a late breakfast since the boys are normally up at 7am. Breakfast is a cheaper alternative to dinner, and you start your day on a happy note!!

Breakfast can be a waste of park time if you don't time them right. We like to do Chef Mickeys around 7:30 so we are still there at park opening. Or pick the last seating for breakfast in a park, then you can have the opening hour or so to ride, then eat. Then you don't need a lunch break also.

If I can make my breakfast reservation early enough to eat and still get to the park on time, then I'll do it. But if it gets pushed later into the morning then I skip the ressie and just eat elsewhere. IMO, I think it's a waste of park time to sit and eat breakfast, especially since the morning is general the lowest crowds of the day.

how long do the breakfast character meals generally last?

I would budget about 1 hour. We've can usually get out in 45-50 minutes if the characters come around in a timely fashion. I also request our check early, so they can process it while we are still eating. That part can take lots of time....

We like the food at the character breakfasts better than the dinners so I say go for that....plus you can get into the parks before it opens so you have great picture opportunities and you will not waste park time.

I have done all the characters meals numerous times for bk & din. All are good. If I had to pick bk over dinner then it would be dinner . But it's cool you are splitting it up. You will have fun.
