How's the food at breakfast on the Disney Dream? Is it better at Cabana's buffet or better at the MDR restaurants? Do they have any extra special breakfast items on at sea days? (we were unable to book Palo brunch, but will keep trying!) Thanks for any input!

It's good at both locations. My preference is based more on the level of service I want on any given morning.

The food in the MDR is fresh made when ordered. Cabanas, while pretty fresh, is buffet-style, so some things may not be truly "hot" or "cold" as they should be.

Breakfast in the MDR (the one that's open) is a set menu (same menu each day).

As to the booking Palo brunch, keep checking. Also, they hold back some reservations for booking onboard, if you don't get a pre-cruise reservation, head directly they once onboard the ship.

I prefer both so it really depends on the mood I’m in. The MDR is much quieter than the pool deck and is the best of both world as you still have a buffet. It’s also the only place to get an omelette.

A buffet in the MDR for breakfast? Pretty sure it's a sit down menu service.
Hmmm yeah we went to Enchanted Garden for bfast and they had the menu service and a buffet, but maybe they’ve changed it? :confused3

I remember being surprised there was a buffet as well so maybe it was a special occasion.

When was that? It was my understanding that they removed the buffet set up on the Dream & Fantasy. It used to be a permanent part of the dining room, but only used on embarkation day in the past.

I've never seen a buffet at an MDR breakfast. You have to order off of the menu.

Even as recently as last week though they have both Enchanted Garden and Royal Court open for breakfast on the second sea day. I'm thinking they might still offer a limited buffet type breakfast in EG.

Come to think of it, I’m pretty sure we had breakfast in EG on a Sea day. It was very nice. I’ll be sure to report back in a few weeks once I’m back from my cruise on the Dream.

It was on the Dream about a year and a half ago.

I do recall there was a buffet in EG on the Dream when we last sailed them 2 1/2 years ago. I was surprised to see it. :cutie:

I guess we got lucky.
I was on the Dream in December. Breakfast at Royal Table had no buffet. We didn't eat breakfast at Enchanted Garden, though. Was that the one that had a breakfast buffet?
Yes it was.

Enchanted Garden had a buffet for bfast on the Fantasy one day this past week. I think they were only open the one day (Thursday). We had it on the Dream our entire cruise last September also, they were open everyday for breakfast with the buffet.
