Hello everyone.

We are hitting AK on our first full day (a Thursday) and want to be there at park opening to hit the key attractions early.

We are staying at the WL on the Deluxe dining plan and I have two choices for breakfast that day:

1 - 7:30 ADR at Whispering Canyon Cafe

Pros - I love those waffles and only 1TS a person
Cons - Worry we will not make it to AK in time for opening

2 - Room Service

Pros - Will make for a more leisurly morning, who doesn't love having breakfast wheeled into your room?

Cons - 2 TS per person (Figure we'd split 2 meals 4 ways but still)

Now you may say we can just grab a quick bite at the WL CS but rather use our credits for something better than that.

Also tried for Donalds Breakfast - was not able to get.

Thanks for any input.

You could do WCC at 7:30, show up for your ADR early and see if they can seat you. Assuming that AK opens at 9:00, I think you could eat in an hour and get the bus and be at AK very close to opening.

You didn't mention Tusker House or the Rainforest Café. They are both in AK so you could make an ADR there or maybe an early lunch and just grab a quick bagel or fruit on your way out in the morning.Just my 2¢

I would do the breakfast in the room. I think it would be really hard to make 9AM with a 7:30 breakfast at WCC with transportation.

Tusker House's breakfast is the Donald's Safari Breakfast the OP mentioned not being able to get. It's a shame too because it's SO YUMMY :)

I would do an early lunch ADR at RFC but they don't accept the DDP.

I do wish we could get into the donalds safari breakfast early! I will keep trying and maybe I will get lucky!!

Tusker House lunch didn't appeal to us looking at the menu.

As far as WCC we are doing Ohana's breakfast our last day. DS LOVES stitch! He's turning 11 but stilllll loooves him! :-)

From what i remember they are kinda similar with food. So maybe some room service french toast would be good.

I'd love to drive over to Kona cafe early or something like that but I know my three "teens" will cry like babies.

It's tooo early!!!

I think I am talking myself into Room service.

I also think I am talking myself OUT of that 7:05 Chef Mickey's ADR we have!

LOL

Room service. The "teens" will appreciate it more and you'll make it to AK in time.

Ordering room service, especially for breakfast, does not strike me as a particularly prudent use of dining plan credits. Can't there be a third option? What do you plan to do for breakfast on the other days of your trip? Do you have table service meals planned for the other mornings?

If you don't want to spend snack credits on breakfast, I suggest skipping room service and Whispering Canyon Cafe and making an early lunch reservation at either Tusker House or Yak & Yeti. That way you still reach the Animal Kingdom in time for opening and hit the key attractions with a minimal wait. Would you consider paying out-of-pocket for a light snack on your way out the door? A piece of fruit or a little pack of cereal probably would tide you over until lunch.

I'm sure the room service idea would work fine, but I'm not crazy about either of the choices you presented.

I would grab a CS breakfast at AK park "Pizzafari" now serves breakfast then
get a late lunch ressie for Yak and Yeti or eat dinner at a Sig.Restaurant (like JIKO at AKL)after
AK park closes.

Since you are on the Deluxe do Room Service keep trying for Donald's but if you want to make the most of your time and get to AK early room service gives you the best flexibilty. Good Luck hope you score a ressie for Donalds though (defintely check 30 days out when people start canceling)

The way our day is planned at the AK is we are hitting everything we want to do ...going to the 12pm Lion King Show and getting the heck out of dodge. An early lunch would crimp our flow.

We have a 5:30 that night at Artist Point so a late lunch would be overload.

My DS 11 is a breakfast person. (He wakes up hungry) and my Niece is diabetic and needs to eat breakfast.

I guess I have some thinking to do.

I think WCC opens at 7:30? We'd do the skillet breakfast so i would think it would come out fast.

Honestly I hope someone cancels a AK breakfast ADR and we can get in.

We shall see!

Thanks for the input!

Thanks

Do it! Do it! Do it! It's a great breakfast and it's wonderful to get into the park early (before it opens.) When we did it, we were able to get FPs for the safari while we were waiting for our name to be called to be seated.

Thanks ... I did end up flipping my days. I am happy about getting the Safari breakfast ... my son requested seeing Donald this time too! :thumbsup2
