Breakfast mistake when booked for DLH

Apology for confusing title to this thread! Basically we have booked our annual birthday trip for our son Oliver at the end of this month and for the first time ever we are going to be staying at the DLH! :dance3: We booked through Expedia as it was a good price for one person (we have Dream passes) but the on-line booking form was confusing and we paid extra for a character breakfast assuming this would be within the hotel. Although it was not mentioned anywhere I could see on the booking page, I now realise this must have meant eating at Cafe Mickey. This does not seem such a treat as we have done this before and really want the whole DLH experience. My question is, do I need to contact the hotel beforehand to let them know that despite the booking we want to have breakfast in the hotel and do you think it will be a problem? I will be contacting them anyway to confirm two beds.

I'm sure it won't be a problem :), as far as I'm aware you don't get breakfast timeslot tickets anyway at the DLH, so your hotel ID easypass will let you have breakfast there every morning of your stay, if thats what you'd prefer to do.

Thank you Elaine, that has reassured me - now I can just feel excited without that niggling worry! :)

That's right, you don't get breakfast slots at the DLH, you just go down when you want to and show your easypass.

Have you contacted Expedia to explain that it wasn't very clear and so you've booked the breakfast in error? Even if you've booked under a non-refundable offer it's worth an email and who knows you may get lucky.

Not long to go now, bet you're getting very excited! :goodvibes

I tried emailing them but they were very inflexible and unsympathetic on the matter - rather put me off Expedia as it was the first time I'd used them. I'm certainly not going to let it spoil my excitement at staying in the DLH though! :hyper:

How do the Cafe Mickey "upgrades" work then? I was just worried we would be given a special pass to take there which might somehow exclude us from breakfast in the hotel. Glad to hear that is not the case. :thumbsup2

its a voucher you get for Cafe Mickey when you check in - its usually instead of a breakfast timeslot card, but as you don't get those at the DLH anyway, its not going to cause any issues :).

If you have paid for it it may be worth wandering up there after you DLH brekkie any way. You could just have a coffee but it would still be a good chance to get lots of photos and autographs with the characters:goodvibes
