Looking for some advise...which has a better breakfast, The Kona Cafe or 'Ohana? We're on the dining plan so price isn't an issue. We're looking for the best value and best food. :goodvibes

Also, my DH is a coffee fanatic; can you buy Kona coffee anywhere in the Poly resort? Beans or cup of coffee?

Thanks for your help!

Not sure. I know Ohana does the L&S character breakfast -- thats what my DH and I are doing.

I think I've read you can order Kona coffee a few places in the resort. I have yet to try it -- I'm excited for that!

BTW- Nice ticker. ;-)

We've done and LOVE both. 'Ohana is served family-style. The food is good (although selection is limited), the characters are good and the Hawaiian bread is to die for. Kona is quieter, no characters and you order off the menu. Our food was phenomenal! Tonga toast is amazing, pancakes are amazing, eggs were cooked perfectly and coffee was bold and yummy. We are going back to Kona on our next trip. I don't think you'll be disappointed with either one, it just depends on what your goals are.

I've had breakfast at Kona a number of times, and I've loved it to the point that I've never bothered going to 'Ohana for breakfast.

It's the only place to get the Kona coffee press-pot. They serve a drip-brewed blend at the sushi bar, but it's NOT the same. That's reason enough to go to Kona. But the food is excellent, too.

You can get the Tonga Toast downstairs at Captain Cook's, and if that's all you're looking for, that's the place to go for it, and keep the extra couple bucks in your pocket. And of course, if you're looking for characters, 'Ohana is the place to go.

If you want a great breakfast with that awesome pot of coffee, it's Kona for sure.

Oh, they do sell the Kona coffee beans at the gift shop, I think. Though you can get the same bag directly from the source once you get home, too.

Hmmm...well, I LOVE Kona for breakfast. I guess it depends on whether you want the characters or not, as Ohana has Lilo and Stitch. I'm very partial to the fruit bowl at the Kona Cafe, though. And their coffee. Their coffee is awesome.

In our family's opinion, there is NO comparison -- the breakfast food itself at Kona is absolutely outstanding (and that press-pot of Kona coffee is fabulous!). We found the food at O'Hana to be pretty disappointing -- to us, the only reason to go there is for the characters. Also, Kona offers breakfast options not available elsewhere (and at WDW, so many menus are so repetitive that it's great to find places with specialty items).

We used to end all our trips with O'hana, but the quality/service seemed to go downhill for us. Our our last trip, we decided to end with Kona instead and were so happy with that decision. The tonga toast and the macademia pancakes were so yummy and the service, both breakfast and dinner(really delicious as well), was excellent.
