Breakfast in the Room for a Big Eater?

My son eats breakfast big time. Hubby and I don't. Any ideas on what he can eat in the room (we are at the Poly) before we hit the parks? I figure I can bring some pop tarts and fruit cups but any other ideas to tie him over until lunch? Something a bit more substantial maybe? Untoasted bagels maybe? Thanks ;)

do the deluxes have microwave available? You could bring the precooked bacon as it doesn't need to be refrigerated.... then he would have some fatty protein to lengthen his time before hunger....not the healthiest suggestion but it may help short term. Or peanut butter on bagels if he likes that. Granola bars or protein bars (they have some now that are pretty tasty)

I've never stayed at the Poly, so I don't know if their food court has a microwave. But all of the food court places at the hotels I have stayed at had microwaves. So, if the Poly does, maybe you could get a box of Eggo Waffles and use their toaster in the morning. Plus bring a carton of eggs and poach some eggs in the microwave. We did this when we stayed at a studio in Old Key West. I got a little plastic thing called a microwave egg poacher (or something like that ) at BedBath andBeyond. Or you could get those frozen breakfast sandwiches? Like Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. Or Hot pockets makes some I think.

Or even just a bowl of cereal with milk in the room.

How old is your DS - the term big eater is all relative to how big he actually is. Either way he will need some protein - that lasts the longest in your stomach. Maybe some string cheese, or lunch meat ham or turkey, along with a bagel should hold him over. The meal replacement bars, like southbeach or slimfast are also very filling.

Its always a good idea to eat lunch early too, like 11-11:30 in order to beat the crowds.

I say just hit the food court in the morning.
My DH is a big breakfast eater. He could go without any other meals before breakfast. I make him eggs 7 days a week (trust me, the doctor knows and says he has stunningly low chlorestrol, so OK.) Anyway, the kids and I are fine with a granola bar or something, he is not. He goes every morning for a real breakfast at the food court. I don't know if your son is old enough to go by himself, but if not maybe DH could go down with him while you get ready. If not, you could grab a breakfast sandwich he can eat on the way. If he's anything like my DH, he will be grumpy if he doesn't start his morning off right.

We do breakfast bars, yogurt, bagels and cream cheese or peanut butter, peanut butter and jelly, fruit, cold cereal. This is assuming you have a fridge. We always get an order from www.gardengrocer.com.

I didn't realize you had a fridge. What about the breakfast bowls or sandwiches you can buy frozen and take them to the food court to microwave? Not the healthiest but filling for the week. My DH likes the Jimmy Dean Lights, slightly better for you.

If the Poly food court has a microwave, I would suggest Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches. My DS 16 loves these for breakfast on school days and says they fill him up until lunch. I actually get the ones that are made with an english muffin, egg, cheese and turkey sausage. These are a bit lower in fat and are under 300 calories. You buy them in the freezer section, but I would just ditch the box and put the individual packages (4 to a box) in your fridge at the Poly; they would be fine there until ready to heat in the microwave. One of these sandwiches, juice or milk and a piece of fruit would be a substantial breakfast.

Bagels with peanut butter, a piece of fruit, and juice or milk, should also be fairly filling.

If there is a coffeemaker in the room, then you can do what we often do. Just run a pot of plain hot water, then mix up the instant packets of oatmeal, grits or that type thing. Now my older sons will eat two packs each with a piece of fruit and a juice box or some milk that I keep iced in the cooler. It seems to help them fill up before we head out.
