breakfast in the fort

There is the breakfast buffet at Trails End. I think that it opens at 7:30AM.

That is the only breakfast option at the Fort. You can take a boat at 6:45 am over to Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary and get a quick breakfast at Contempo Cafe or Roaring Forks. That's what I used to do when tent camping cause I didn't have a fridge.

You can always go looping and look for a friendly family who doesn't mind sharing b-fast with you...or scout out site 617 and see if they have anything cooking on the grill! A sidewalk goes right next to the grill on that site and if you're real good, you can snag something without being noticed! :thumbsup2

I love you guys!! Y'all are so funny! Most of the time we will eat in the camper but you can't beat a good breakfast buffet. I really enjoy reading all the advice you guys have to give along with wisecracks, sarcasm, and friendly banter. :rotfl2: sometimes I am on here laughing out loud the kids think I'm crazy but I tell them that y'all are :thumbsup2

We are planning on taking the boat to Wilderness Lodge and having breakfast at Whispering Canyon one morning as well. Other than that, it will be one day at Trail's end and the rest at the tent. I have a coleman extreme cooler for the milk. I bring a tea kettle for boiling water for oatmeal. We also bring muffins and cereal. I may even do pancakes and bacon one morning. One note on the bacon if you are using a cooler with ice. SEAL the bacon VERY good. If the water gets into it, it is NASTY!!!!

I need to start getting my camp kitchen stuff reorganized.

I really like the all you can eat family skillet breakfast at Wilderness Lodge. We usually go there once or twice, and I always eat way too much. The kids like it too.

Did they take away the breakfast pizza at Trails End?

I loved that stuff!

The trading posts also have breakfast stuff (juices, milk, cereal, donuts, frozen entrees, etc) and coffee. Not really my choice but its something in a pinch.

This is what I get when I try to make an online ADR for Trail's End. No mention of breakfast and when I click on a breakfast time, the lunch price comes up. This is the info they list for Trail's End. This is supposed to be Trail's End, not FW. Also, even the HDDMR is not over $100 a person. And no mention of breakfast. Not sure what is up.

On our last day we still had counter service credits to use on the DDP. We drove over to Port Orleans French Quarter (Riverside is even closer) and ate breakfast there. It wasn't bad but probably only worth it if you're on the dining plan.

(We went there for dinner one evening, too. It's not a long drive from the Fort but you do need a car!)

what are my options for breakfast at the fort and what time do they open

Not a reply, but for me it's anything the DW has planned for inside the trailer since I can eat it in my undies and not mess with getting dressed and going anywhere. Some of our favorites are:

1. French toast using the honey wheat Hawiian bread in the round loaf.

2. Sausage biscuits with frozen sausage patties from the freezer and fresh or frozen biscuits.

3. Waffles or pancakes with frozen bacon or sausage patties already fried and thawed.

4. Egg McMuffins

5. Harrison Hash ... 1/2 lb of breakfast sausage with 1/2 package of Potatoes O'Brian mixed in and either toast or muffins ... eggs optional

6. Sheet cake either frozen or cooked fresh with the canned frosting on it and either the frozen bacon or sausage.

7. The Martha Washington muffin mix muffins and the frozen bacon thawed.

8. Thomas' or other brand everything bagels with either cream cheese or real butter.

To be honest I would never pay $14 and up for a breakfast anywhere at WDW except for maybe a character breakfast if you had kids. We have done exactly two of those in the 25+ years in going to WDW and staying at FW ... both character ones at the CR and at the Poly.

When I go to the parks, I like to leave extra early so that we can be there for the opening show and for rope drop. That means we usually leave the Fort around the time they start serving breakfast at Trail's End.

Normally, we grab a quick breakfast at our cabin/campsite of the heat and eat variety. We like frozen pancakes with fully cooked packaged bacon, frozen breakfast biscuit sandwiches, frozen breakfast burritos, etc. Then when we get hungry, we grab a snack inside the parks to hold us over until lunch.

Like others here, I like saving breakfast at Trail's End for the morning we are leaving so I can focus on packing.

Of course, meals at 617 are always delightful but I prefer swinging by there for lunch or supper, lol.
