Was thinking of doing a character breakfast on my last morning @ WDW, but can't decide between O'Hana's, Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's (won't do dinner here, but would try breakfast). The plan is do a character meal early, then head for the Magic Kingdom right when it opens. This way I can get a couple of hours in, before having to head back to the Wilderness Lodge and to the airport. This way I can have a good size meal and then can grab a snack back at Roaring Forks to lunch.

This is a solo trip.

Which of these would you choose?

I chose the Crystal Palace, I really enjoyed the breakfast selections, I liked it better than Chef Mickeys. Its been a few years since I've eaten at Ohana for breakfast, I prefer a buffet rather than them bring the food to your table.

HANDS DOWN Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We ate here before MK opened and I am telling you my fam LOVED everything. They first take that fam photo with all the characters prior to seating you and then the parade begins literally of so many characters. Even though it is a buffet in which you are getting up and down, do not think you will miss any characters as they come around SO MUCH! And they encourage photo's. We are all adults, my DM and DD and two DS's and DH and we were THRILLED by the whole adventure. We took the boat over from WL and all had a BLAST. :flower:

I'm not a fan of Chef Mickey's at all. The atmosphere is fun, but the food is YUCKY . . . cold, picked over, unappetizing, messy, etc. Characters always seem rushed, too. We've given it quite a few tries for breakfast and dinner, and we've finally decided we wont' be back at all. (Although, breakfast is less yucky than dinner.)

Crystal Palace, however, has some of the best food at Disney World, as far as character breakfasts go. There are more choices, more variety, and everything is just plain better. The character interaction is much better as well, and the general atmosphere is less chaotic. We love breakfast here!

We did the Stitch breakfast at Ohana in December and enjoyed that too. Great character interaction in a lovely environment! However, we really prefer the variety of a buffet to the family style places. The food that we had, though, was really tasty. In fact, the pineapple bread alone made the breakfast more than worth it!

I ate a CP for breakfast for the first time in Aug. I LOVED it so much that I ate there twice for breakfast in Oct. The food was great and the really great thing is if you get an early ADR you can walk up a nearly empty Main St and get done with breakfast just as MK is opening and you are beyound the rush of folks entering at the gate.

How early can you get a PS at the Crystal Palace for breakfast? Say the park opens at 8am, how early do they start breakfast?

Is there a reason you didnt include 1900 park fare? We absolutely loved it. We enjoyed there food better than the breakfasts we ate at Chef Mickeys and Akershus. Breakfast is well breakfast but I had to agree with the other poster about both the food being cold/picked over and the characters being rushed. We havent been to the others but are really looking forward to ohana's for our upcoming trip....the only restaurant we have eaten at at disney that we feel we wouldnt bother trying to go back to is Chef Mickeys.

The park generally opens at 9am and I think they start at 8:10 maybe 8:05. There is a special entrance line at MK for folks who have early ADR's.

I wouldn't try this on an early entry day.

Have you been to 1900 PF?
I have heard lots of good things about it, we are going try it on our next trip.

I love Crystal Palace and we will be eating breakfast again there in March. The food selections are really good and you get to see Pooh and the gang. What a great way to start the day.

Was leaning towards Crystal, as it would be nice to already be in the park.

As far as 1900, tried dinner there once and thought it was just ok.

Thanks everyone for your input and votes. Looks like it's going to be the Crystal Palace. Have had lunch & dinner there, but not breakfast.

We just got back from WDW and had a wonderful breakfast at 'Ohana. Stitch was a hoot and the food was excellent. It takes a while for the characters to get around the room, so we were there for more than an hour.

We did lunch at Crystal Palace (late lunch, so it dragged over into dinner time food). It was also excellent.

We've done Chef Mickey's a few times. Lots of fun, but the food was all over the scale from excellent to not so great. Kind of hit or miss.
