I'm not sure how to upload my picture yet, so this will look a little bit more boring than everyone else's. :)

I was just wondering what was offered on the Trial's End breakfast buffet and how much it runs. We're trying to decide if it would be better to just grab coffee and a small snack everyday. I would assume the Trading Post store has quick stuff to grab and go with. Anyone have any information on this? We're tent camping, so eating with what FW has to offer us is best. :)

Thanks! :dance3:

At $12/head I'll pass

They have take out items at T.E. for breakfast, but IIRC, it just muffins and danish. Both trading posts have breakfast items, but again...mostly Entenmann's. We mostly do breakfast at the site...both for convenience and to save $$. Not a big breakfast person....toast & coffee will tide me over until lunch.

Breakfast (Updated: 08/08)
Entree/Main Course

Breakfast Buffet served 7:30am-11:00am - Fresh Fruit, Assorted cereals, sausage, bacon, Omelet of the Day, Scrambled eggs, biscuits and sausage gravy, grits, oatmeal, beef hash, Mickey waffles, hot cinnamon spiced apples and Freshly baked pastries. Guests 10 and up $11.99 Guests 3 to 9 $7.99 *

:cloud9: (Note Avatar) Worth it for the waffles alone!!! :lovestruc Actually I think I get my $'s worth, while most in the family probably do not. I can go and load up on a big breakfast at TE and be set until dinner time, when I like to return to the trailer for a break from the parks. So this can be the only meal I purchase in a day. Considering the cost of counter service at the parks, it is not bad.

I agree with Tony,,
I am a breakfast person so I get my $ worth:thumbsup2 ,,my family does not.(I have threatened to leave them at the camper while I eat breakfast at TE).

Most of the time however (because of the family)we just grab a sweet roll and drink when we are headed to the parks.

I agree that if we eat a big breakfast like this we usually just have a snack for lunch and then dinner. We really enjoyed the trails end buffet!

Amanda,,
that girl should be the poster child for the Trails End Waffles !

When I was tent camping at the Fort, for a quick breakfast, I would either take the boat over to the Contemporary and eat at the Food n' Fun Center (counter service), or over to Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge (counter service). There is a boat that starts at 6:45 am that will take you directly over to the Contemporary, then over to Wilderness Lodge.

Then, I would take transportation from one of those places to start my day in the parks.

This upcoming trip will be different for us. Since hubby likes a good breakfast, we have all of our sit down meals as breakfast at various places, then we're spending the afternoon(s) trolling the Food & Wine festival.

Breakfast is also my favorite meal of the day and a buffet is perfect for me. My son loves breakfast food but not at a typical breakfast time. Both Trail's End and Chef Mickey's were kind of a waste for him but the rest of us did enjoy and avoided other counter service...

Thanks for all the replies! I agree, that girl should definitely be the poster child for Mickey's waffles. She's so cute! :)

Thanks! She loved those Mickey Waffles. She loves anything with the mouse, we've raised her well.:rotfl:

Carol- Just a head's up- the Food n' Fun center at the Contemporary is no more :(. They are building a new quick serve place where the Concourse Steak House used to be, and right now, there is just a temporary set up on the main floor.

I am hoping that the new place will be nice, as we always liked to stop at the Contemporary for a meal on our way to or from the MK- with the boat right there, it is easy to get back and forth from the Fort.

We ate at Trails End yesterday morning and while it was okay, we probably won't do it again. For 2 adults it was almost $30 (including tip) and there is no way we ate enough to make it worthwhile. We didn't think there was much variety and the food was kinda bland. But to each his own:thumbsup2

Oh, I know. The new place is close to completion. Pictures I've seen show it just about finished.

According to this review it is open, and looks pretty cool:

I have not seen the finished restaurant yet, but I intend to visit soon. The quick serve place was not anywhere near done earlier this month.

Have a good trip, and be on the look out for a golf cart with a big pumpkin on the roof next weekend ;)

The WAVE has been open for awhile. The new food court in the old Concourse Steakhouse location is almost open.

We go to TE several times because DH is a big breakfast person...me I go for the waffles :-) Then we're off to parks until around 3 or so, go back to camper and eat something quick or it works out great having the crockpot do the cooking during the day. The bulk of the days we eat at camper---cereal/fruit, etc. In a tent, maybe you could get one of those electric ice chests to keep a few perishable things in and have cereal & fruit at your site. Much better than just a sweet roll for breakfast (or if you want sweet rolls, bring your own---save the $$ for a better meal).
