What type of foods do they have? Breakfast sandwiches? Breakfast platters? Bagels, donuts, danishes, croissants?

I am thinking of nixing 2 breakfast ressies so we can just grab something on the fly (staying at BWI) and then have a nice lunch and dinner.

Breakfast paninis (sp?) that are very good. Bagels, muffins, croissants, eclairs :rolleyes1 . DD14 swears that the Tiramisu is the best breakfast food there ;) I think there were fruit cups, but not positive. Coffee, cocoa & bottles of OJ.

We grabbed a variety of stuff a couple of morning last Dec when we were staying at BWV. We were using the DDP on that trip and we were able to make CS breakfasts by combining stuff, and use snack credits for others.

MickeyNickey,
Looks like we'll be at the BWI at the same time. Funny, I had the same questions about BW Bakery breakfast items!

Lots of baked goods and a couple of breakfast sandwiches with egg, bacon and cheese.

Also, cereal and milk, juice, fruit cups

Ok so it sounds pretty promising, fruit good, breakfast sandwiches good, pastries GOOD!

Now would you guys give up Kona breakfast and Grand Floridian Cafe breakfast for this? That way I can get in a few TS lunches instead.

What would you do?

I am torn because we are staying cl at the AKL for the first 5 days of our trip and will eat breakfast in the lounge for 3 days...the other 2 we have Boma and the Sunrise Safari breakfast booked.

On our departure day we will do a very late Cape May. So if I scrap Kona and GFC we will have just 3 TS breakfasts for 9 mornings...that would be ok right?

We will be at BWI around same time 10/20-24. One of my favorite things about staying there is having my coffee and breakfast at the Boardwalk Bakery and sitting outside watching the morning start. We get there early so the line is not out the door and grab a table outside. They have great fruit plates as well that we sometimes buy at breakfast and bring back to the room for an afternoon snack at the pool. We also enjoy breakfast from the Bellevue Lounge, and eating it outside as well on the balcony off the lounge.

We usually do our sit-down breakfast only on our check-out day, either at Cape May or Captain's Grille.

What a great way to start the day...sitting on the mostly empty boardwalk, having coffee with soft Disney music in the background..watching the day start. Save your TS for lunch..who wants to be inside on beautiful October mornings!

The bakery has no indoor seating so you would have to sit outside or go back to your room. If you buy a refillable mug you can also have it filled here.

I enjoy doing this at least once in my vacation, it's some downtime and more relaxing as long as the weather agrees.

Thanks for the imput Deb...what time do you go in the am? Are they open at 7am? I was thinking I could leave DH in bed sleeping and I could run down and get something for us.

What is the Bellevue Lounge and where is it? Is it club level or something?

We are doing Cape May on our check out too....maybe I will run into you at the Boardwalk Bakery!

MickeyNicki:

We usually go around 7:00AM, but I think they are open as early as 6:30 AM.
If DH is still sleeping, at least wake him up to eat breakfast on your room balcony!

The Bellevue Lounge is where they set up continental breakfast (for purchase, not complimentary) in the morning inside the hotel. It is not Club Level. It is the cocktail lounge off the main lobby. They have many of the breakfast items from the Bakery, not any egg sandwiches or such. Just cereal, bagels, muffins, croissants, bananas, etc. There is also a toaster on a side table to toast your bagels, etc. The room has comfy chairs and couches, and round card/game tables to eat at. Also outdoor seating on a small balcony off the lounge. The CM Mary is wonderful there.

You will recognize me and DH...we will be on the Boardwalk in the morning with coffee (my favorite time of day), or strolling Epcot at night with a glass of wine (DH's favorite time of day)!

Hope you enjoy BWI as much as we do, and Happy Food and Wine Festival!

Bellevue was not open mornings or evenings when we were there in December :sad2: .

I also just saw a thread this morning where the OP had called Disney and was told that the Bellevue lounge was closed permanently. Don't know if that is true or not, but I wouldn't count on going to Bellevue Lounge.

The bakery lines can be long, but as long as you're not trying to use the DDP it will go much faster. Unfortunately with DDP, things aren't labeled very well in there as to what makes a CS, what is a snack and so on. The CM's also didn't speak English real well (at least last December) so it was confusing.

When we were there in May the Bellevue Lounge was open every morning and evening, as well as when we were there last December. It would be a shame if it is now closed, as it would force everyone out to the Boardwalk Bakery for a quick breakfast and would make the line even longer!! :confused3

Thanks for the update!
