We have a bit of an odd schedule and are arriving in Orlando on Monday and plan to do Magic Kingdom on Wed.
On Tuesday I thought it would fun to have a character breakfast/ brunch and then a fairly low key day out of the parks -
Are Character dining options available for folks not staying at a Disney resort?

Yes they are. I took my 6 year old neice at Thanksgiving time last year and we were not staying on property. When we arrived at the hotel we let them know we were having breakfast at Chef Mickey. They let us right through and told us where to park. After breakfast we road the monorail. She had a blast!

Go to the Walt Disney World site under dining...make a dining reservation. As long as it is not within 180 days, you can go on and make a reservation. Do ASAP as I have been trying to get Chef Mickey's for friends of mine(who are staying on disney property) for September and the entire week is sold out! I just keep trying each day.

I guess I hadn't even thought about availability! I'm such a rookie!!

:D
Well I lucked out and we got "brunch" there the day we are getting in. We'll leave my Aunt's house a bit earlier (5am instead of 8am) but the kids will sleep on the drive up and we'll start our trip with a nice brunch!!

How long does it take to navigate to park and get inside to the restaurant?
