Hi, I am looking for a breakfast buffet for our upcoming stay. Since we are not traveling with kids we do not necessarly need a character breakfast. Any suggestions? I'm sure I'm missing it somewhere on these boards! :surfweb:

Cape May Cafe has a great buffet breakfast and wonderful relaxing atmosphere. There are characters, but they are low key. Also the Beach Club is a beautiful resort to visit.

Cape May is also my favorite! No one in my family has kids yet and it is a must do on every trip. Great atmosphere and food!

Where are you staying?

I agree with Cape May. It was laid back, not packed, and delicious! We were there the Sunday before Christmas and they had some empty tables and it also wasn't as loud as some of the others.

We've done ...

Boma.. nice atmosphere and a mix of normal and ethnic foods.

Crystal Palace... schedule prior to park opening on a day that MK doesn't open early and you will get to see a view of the castle w/no one else around... Neat.

Grand Floridina 1900 Park Fare... Nice atmosphere. Great food, lower priced brkfst buffet.. we were surprised by the price being it's in a nicer resort.

Overall we were impressed w/all the brkfst buffets, more so than most of the lunch or dinner ones.

If you want a non-character breakfast buffet then I believe your options are Boma, the Wave and Captain's Grille. Captain's Grille I believe is very similar food to Cape May from what I've read yet it's much cheaper because there aren't any characters.

I love the breakfast buffet at Boma! It's so delicious, and in my opinion, totally worth the trip. If you're up for waking up early, try to get an early ADR. It will be mostly empty and so relaxing.

If you don't want characters at all, Boma is great! I don't think there's any other non character breakfast buffets.

And for character breakfast buffets, I agree with others on Cape May Cafe. I've probably been to just about every character breakfast, and this one was definitely quiet and low key compared to the rest. And the food was delicious.

So my vote would be for either of those two.

Boma! It has the best scrambled eggs ever. I've also read that the Wave serves a breakfast buffet now that is really good, though I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Depends on where you're staying or what park you plan on visiting that day, I'd pick something close to where you are, or where you're going. If it's an AK day, Boma for sure.

Boma for non character, Tuskar for character. Boma not only has the standard fare but also has some very nice extras. Some items have a African Flare, and are really good. The thing I loved the best was this African inspired mustard type glaze they have for thier ham, I could have stuck a straw in and drank it. My fav at Tuskar is their corned beef hash, it's not the canned crap, there are onion, green pepper, toped with cornbread and it's a little spicey. Delicious.

We love Crystal Palace!

If you want an all you can eat experience but not necessarily a buffet Whispering Canyon is great...we love the all you can eat skillet. It's our 2nd favorite breakfast on property.

I have to agree with picking something near where you will be.

Unless you have a day off from the park, I wouldn't go out of my way for a meal at a resort that is hard to get to using Disney Transportation.

We stay at Pop so Cape May Cafe breakfast and Boma are not ones I have been to. They would be a pain for me to get to as we use Disney transportation and I don't like wasting park time trying to get to ADR's.

If you have a vehicle, then go for it. It's fun to check out other resorts that you aren't staying at.

We had a nice breakfast at Captain's Grille which is located at the Yacht Club. It was about half the price of a character breakfast! Great service and plenty of offerings.

Very uncrowded as well!

:wizard: Crystal Palace is our favorite. The food is great and the characters are fun but not invasive. We're trying The Wave this year too, just for something different since they started serving a buffet. Hope it's good!
