Breakfast @ Boma

Hi,
I have a question about breakfast at Boma.
We will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and were hoping to eat breakfast at Boma everyday.
How does that work exactly? If we stay at the AKL do we still need to make a reservation for breakfast for each day? Does breakfast at Boma even require reservation?

Thanks

I will make sure not to miss it!
I'm now wondering if it's maybe too much, such a rich breakfast buffet every morning...

Personally I think that it would be overkill to eat there multiple times, let alone every day. It is a HUGE buffet and there is tons of food, though of course you are free to eat as much or as little as you like. For the price, though, we treat this as a special breakfast usually toward the end of our trip and do quick service at our resort or somewhere like Boardwalk Bakery or Les Halles most mornings. Just my two cents! Boma is wonderful for breakfast however many times you go! :)

Buffets are what you make of them - you could just eat oatmeal and fresh fruit, or you could indulge in rich carb-y goodness every day.

Two of my favorite things on the Boma breakfast buffet are the ham and the asparagus. I don't think I even had any of the bread pudding the last time I was there. Gotta go back and remedy that! =)

I tend to agree... but I was hoping it would be a good solution for breakfast since we're already staying there, and I have an incredibly picky 3 year old, so I was thinking that a buffet with many options would be better than having to order one thing at any other restaurant (plus it has healthier things like hard boiled eggs and vegetables, which she does eat).
Maybe I'll reserve three breakfasts out of our 5 days stay or something.

I think it would be a lot. You can get stuff at the QS spot (The Mara) that your child will eat. They have things like fruit/veggies and I am not certain but possibly hard boiled eggs without the cost/excess of the buffet.

We love Boma breakfast, but everyday might be too much.
There is also Mara for a delicious counter service (take food to a table inside or out).
Lighter offerings but great food !

I agree that once or twice at Boma would be enough. While I love it, I would not want to pay Boma prices for oatmeal and fresh fruit. The Mara has some great breakfast offerings. Really like their African breakfast platter, and there are plenty of options for a little one that will be much cheaper than Boma.

Here is another thing to consider with a three year old: buffets can be very stressful, depending on your child's personality. At Disney buffets with my children, I am constantly up- getting them food, getting myself food. . . and I often don't have time to really enjoy the experience as fully as I would like. If you have a quiet, considerate child who will eat what you get her the first time and politely wait for you to get yourself food and enjoy it, then Boma every day could work. But we didn't have one of those children, and Disney buffets when you have two like ours (treasures though they are) can be more stressful than quick service.

We love Boma breakfast, but everyday would be to much. Especially with bread pudding that is that good, I'm pretty sure that somebody would have to roll me onto the rides after the third day.

we have walked up to boma around 9ish and seated with no reservation. twice. might be the time of year.

the food is good but i dont think for the price it is worth doing every single day

I also agree that 5 days would be too much. We just had a 13 day AKL stay earlier this month and ate at Boma twice for breakfast. It was enough for one trip.

In my opinion Boma is the best breakfast buffet on property. I would eat there everyday, but it can all add up to be very expensive and I like using dining credits to try different restaurants. The quick service restaurant, The Mara, has a quick and nice selection for breakfast as well. The Mara is a great choice if you are worried about Boma being too heavy.

Yes!! The Boma breakfast buffet is definitely the best. It is much more reasonably priced than others, quieter, unique offerings - and in my opinion, that lack of characters is a plus.

Mara is very good for breakfast. I think breakfast in general is one of the meals Disney does best at resort QS (probably because it's the easiest). I usually just order a children's breakfast for myself. The adult platters are often too big if I can't talk someone into sharing.

The lines can be long at Boma in the early morning.

And maybe we shouldn't be talking up this breakfast buffet, in fear that it becomes yet another hard to get ADR.
