I will be visiting Orlando for New Year's and will have a ton of time to kill on my first day before my room is ready.

I was hoping to get breakfast at Disney Springs, but that doesn't really look like an option. What's the next best? I am not going into a park and since it's just adults, I'm not interested in a character breakfast. The closer to DS, the better, but not a requirement.

Well, our favorite breakfast is Trattoria Al Forno at Boardwalk.

Everything we've eaten has been just so good. And honestly I'm not even a breakfast person!

Best in show to the sunrise breakfast pizza and the eggs al forno. My brother loved the frittata.

Why isn’t DS an option? No ADR available? Art Smith’s there is good, if you want to try a resort our breakfast places are Grand Floridian Cafe, Steakhouse 71 at Contemporary, Olivia’s at OKW, and Trattoria al Forno on the Boardwalk … Boma at AKL is said to be great but buffets are a no go for us so never tried it even though we stay there often.

Art Smith's has no availability, unfortunately.

How is Steakhouse 71? Contemporary is my favorite resort since that's the first one I stayed in.

We have enjoyed our breakfasts there … enjoyed them a lot better when the bottomless mimosas existed but unfortunately they took those away …

Would recommend breakfast at SH71. We've enjoyed it there several times over the past few years. Would also go with the above recommendation of Boma at AKL - an amazing buffet, and the option to walk around the resort a bit to see the resort and the animals!

Boma would probably be closest, but I'm not a fan of buffets and the last time I stayed at AKL (in September) the restaurant was mobbed. We really enjoy Ale & Compass at YC. You could also stroll the Boardwalk and even ride the Skylner from there if you like.

Love Art Smith’s Homecomin but I think brunch is only served on the weekends. We live Kona Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Ale and Compass, and Rosa Mexicano (no ADRs can be made but there rarely was a wait when we’ve been).

Boma and Kona Cafe are our usual breakfast go-tos. But we were able to do a walk-up breakfast at Cake Bake last trip and it was excellent.

Topolinas, if your willing to pay character pricing.

PP hit the others.

Edited to add You're staying offsite. Why not check the reviews for whatever breakfast is available at Gaylord Palms and Four Seasons

Four Seasons breakfast was outstanding, but it's a buffet, expensive, and has Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy!

I've heard great things about steakhouse 71 for breakfast, it's on my list for next trip.

Olivia's was fantastic, great food.

You can always take the water shuttle from DS to the French quarter and get beignets. those are fantastic.

I used to love Toppolino's for breakfast but I haven't been since they stopped letting you take a full plate and half of a second (I'd do steak and eggs!). I'm also biased to the Riviera.

Ale & Compass at the Yacht Club has a good breakfast selection. The option to combine an entree selection from the menu with their continental enhancements of yogurt, breakfast pastries, fruit, granola, etc. of breakfast sides and a beverage at a reasonable premium over the cost as the entree and beverage at a la carte prices provides good value while avoiding the full breakfast buffet premium price and food overload.

This! We did a fair few breakfasts last trip and we loved Trattoria so much we went back a second time and ordered the exact same thing as the first. Eggs Al forno is an amazing dish, and both the coffee press pot and iced coffees are amazing.

Second place: Boma. It’s solid. It’s always solid.

I was disappointed by Kona and I’d always wanted to try it.
