Tony's used to serve breakfast, and it was the most delicious way to start the morning in the Magic Kingdom. It was our family tradition to always have breakfast at Tony's and I have found that they do not serve breakfast anymore! Does anyone know if they do offer breakfast, but to large conference type groups, on occassion? I remember hearing that they do serve breakfast, but only when a reservation for a very large group has been in place. Any thoughts?

Breakfast at Tony's is now an option for the Magical Gatherings Good Morning Gathering. We are going to eat at Tony's on Feb. 8, 2005. Will give reprot when we return.

We miss the breakfast at Tony's. A CM told us that alot of guests inquire when it will be back. The CM was taking an informal survey of the people that asked about breakfast. She had alot of votes on her sheet. Since we go to WDW at least once a month, we always ask the CM about reopening.

It'll probably be a cold day in you know where before they reopen Tony's for breakfast. Word was they weren't satisfied with the # of folks eating there (tho we always found it to be fairly crowded) and they insisted there were "plenty" of other choices for bkfst at the MK (which, of course, there aren't).
I do dream about it tho, so just maybe--but I'm not holding my breath. Nowadays we eat breakfast at Kona on our MK day--.

Town Square Cafe (think that was the name)? We always had breakfast there on our MK day - would even eat outside with the birds chirping :) This area is now enclosed which ruined the ambiancw. We've tried it once since it became Tony's (for breaskfast and dinner), but never went back...just not the same.

Ahhh, sweet memories... :cloud9:

Our family ate there for Breakfast the last morning it was open (not including the MB) and most of the staff was in tears. (Along with us) We always ate there on one of our MK mornings.

Breakfast at Tony's was one of our favorite meals during our May 2001 trip. Our server even took DSs' autograph books back to the kitchen and had Lady and Tramp "sign" them. They were cute paw prints. They even had a couple of other characters "sign" them from the kitchen. There were no actual characters there, these were just autograph stamps, but they were really cute! I would LOVE to see them bring breakfast back to Tony's!! (We never eat dinner there).

I would just LOVE to see them open TONY"S again. We always used to eat there on our MK days, the free sweet rolls were so good. We always found it to be really crowded whenever we ate there. We eat at Kona now when it's our MK day.

Golly, there are so many people who loved eating there! I don't know why they thought they didn't have enough people coming through their doors. Thanks for the info about the Magical Gatherings Morning breakfast they offer. Do you know if it is the same breakfast menu as they had before?

TerriS, I think we were there the same day! The server told my mom and me that we were the very last table seated for the very last breakfast. Mom and I were so upset, as fresh strawberries and cream with bagels and coffee were a little tradition we had every trip. We have missed it alot.

We wanted to go for Magical Gatherings in June, but were told by the CM that my 16 mo old nephew did not count as a person, so we only had 7 people, not 8. We were very disappointed.

It's a Grand Gathering event. It's where you can sign up for special events if you have eight or more people ages 3 and up. Anyone under 3 is not counted. Tony's Breakfast includes breakfast, games, and a one-on-one with Mickey for your group. We did the Safari event last time we went and it was great. We are going to try Tony's and the Magical Fireworks Voyage next time.

I'd call back and ask again. We just came back a week or so ago and were told by every CM that the 13 month old counted in our seating arrangements.

We had a Magical Gathering breakfast at Tony's. It was really good. Tony was lots and lots of fun. Great character interaction as well.

Not sure what events you want to do but I paid for me niece as a child even though she was underage to make my 8th.

Makes it a little pricier but what's a few more bucks at disney
:smooth:

They had the best waffles of any WDW restaurant! We got to eat there once prior to them closing for breakfast. I do hope they open it to the general public for breakfast again. We had lunch there last month, it was a cold day and they had butternut squash soup. It was delicious. I've never been there for dinner, you hear a lot of negative about dinner there, but I though lunch was great!

I can;t seem to find a character list anywhere for this except Mickey. Would you mind telling me who else was there?

We have 3 things with Mickey, Chip & Dale now and although I would like more character meals, I can't see getting the same ones over and over.

TIA

We had Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale in the dining room. Mickey was in another room where we were led to see him after the breakfast.

I went there for breakfast a few years ago and had Italian Toast. It was so good! As was the sweet roll that they start you off with. And suddenly I'm no longer questioning why I didn't have lunch that day. I suspect I was still full the next day.

I've yet to attend my first character meal at WDW (have several the week of the 20th, though!); however, I was wondering as well why so many of the meals seem to feature Goofy and Chip and Dale (it's the same at Disneyland), while giving short shrift to other characters such as ... Donald Duck! I know he's at the character meal at AK, but from what I've heard he's hard to find anywhere else. When I was a kid (and yes, I'm dating myself), Mickey and Donald were the two main Disney characters. They need to give Donald more face time!

I have no idea on characters at meals but I do have to say in my last 4 trips I seemed to find Donald at least once a day and I have been there in value season.
