Breakfast at the DLH?

Hi All, Does anyone know if you can still buy breakfast at the DLH if you are not staying there, and if you can do you need to book?

You don't need to book but I think the price is around €30 for an adult now

has that changed again since February this year? Thats when the price went up to 35 euros per person to have breakfast at the DLH for non-guests.

I had breakfast there in June while I was not a hotel guest and paid about 30 Euros. I'm not aware of any change where non-hotel guests are not allowed to have breakfast at the DLH.

Such a rule will be very difficult to enforce under French law.

no, you cant use any meal plan vouchers for any breakfasts I'm afraid.

It may be that as peek season they were full which is why they could not eat there. However in France the law means they can not stop people eating in a hotel (unless it is full of course) and I don't think this has changed.

Whether it is worth the 35 euro is a different question of course!

Well, they were residents but had friends who were at HNY with them, place was quite empty and it was just after 10am. So no idea.

35 euro!!!! Not sure it's worth that much especially with no characters from mid November!!! I remember reading somewhere about hotels not being allowed to refuse access to dining restaurants but can't remember where.

When you going?? Maybe the vouchers would be suitable to someone on here going at same time? We had lunch vouchers left over one trip....we had got full board and couldn't manage that much food...a family we met were delighted with them...just a thought :-D

Oh dear the saga of the vouchers !!! We have used vouchers every holiday as we are a large family and it makes budgeting so much easier...plus , because we like table service meals it usually does save us a bit :] . However for example last year at Blue lagoon the waiter split our bill in two so we could maximise our vouchers and use the shareholders discount [don't ask, big group and not every one had vouchers!], whereas at walts they were even sticky about us using them at face value????? I have in the past used left over vouchers for caseys, Gibson Girls and The Fisherman's wharf for bar snacks and have always been told that as long as they are for food it's not a problem.....suppose it just depends on who is working at the time!!! TBH I think for one treat I would probably pay for breakfast, but it would be nice to use the excess vouchers if I can. If it turns out I can't I will be straight on here to offer them to anyone who wants them Kx

Is it too late for you to ask for a refund on the meal vouchers? We almost bought them this year but thought they might be too restrictive. Hope you get something sorted - that's a lot of money to lose.

They won't refund on these I'm afraid :-(

This is interesting.

I have to say, I hold my hand up to complaining about this on one of our trips in the past . In my defence, we were staying in the hotel and it was so busy they couldn't sit us in the main dining room and put us in a very small meeting room on the other side of the hotel - the breakfast choice was far inferior (and wasn't replenished promptly unlike the main area) and frankly, we missed the view as well. Not what you expect when you pay to stay in the DLH! When I enquired as to why we couldn't sit in the main area we were told it was full as they had "a lot of people who had paid to eat breakfast there that morning". The next morning, they tried to put us in there again, DH (who is fairly laid back) told them in no uncertain terms that we were eating in the main area! Erm, I wasn't too impressed! I mean, it was June and not even a French holiday!

I'm all for allowing people to eat where they like (and pay for) but I do think they needed to do something to ensure that guests staying in the hotel were given preferential seating or something!
