for the past several years my family has done club level at RPR and thus have not worried about breakfast...this year we are staying in a regular room and will need a place to eat in the morning...i checked the RPR website and the Orchid Court restaurant said it featured a continental breakfast, but does anyone know if this is free (im sure it isnt)? where should we eat at thats somewhat affordable?

No, its not free, but I don't believe its too expensive. I've never eaten there, but I've heard that the price is a la carte.

The Islands Dining Room has a breakfast buffet, but its expensive at around $18 per person.

If you don't mind eating breakfast at Citywalk, Pastamore has breakfast items available for reasonable prices. There's also a Cinnabon and Starbucks available at Citywalk.

If you'll be visiting the parks, IOA's Croissant Moon Bakery and USF's Boulangerie have breakfast sandwiches and other items available at reasonable prices. Don't wait too late though as they could sell out of breakfast sandwiches.

The breakfast buffet at Islands Dining Room is $16.95 and $7.50 for kids---all beverages are included---like if you wanted coffee AND juice. It is very good and very filling. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, pancakes, waffles, potatoes, oatmeal, lox, yogurt, parfaits, cereals, homemade donuts, pastries, toast, made to order eggs, bagels, croissants, fresh fruit.

The continental breakfast in the Orchid Lounge is definitely NOT free. It is ala carte....a bagel, 1 danish and 2 milks cost me $10.

The Cinnabon doesnt open until 11 am. Not sure about the other places.

If you have a car, you're better off to go to Walmart (a few miles down the road) and purchase donuts, cereal or whatever you'd like for breakfast and tote it back. One note though--there is no fridge in the room so buy a styrofoam cooler at Walmart for $1.88 to put your milk or sodas in or whatever.

:thumbsup2

We use a towncar service that provides a free 30 minute grocery stop between the airport and the hotel. We get the styrofoam cooler, along with food and drink.

I'm pretty sure the CityWalk Cinnabon opens earlier than 11. At least it was when last I was there, since I got a pecan roll before the parks opened at 9.

The breakfast sandwiches and pastries at IOA's Croissant Moon Bakery and USF's Boulangerie are DELICIOUS!

I think your right I can remeber one time we stopped there at about 8:30 or 9:00 am last year and was bouncing off the walls for hours from the sugar rush :lmao::lmao:

We will have a car when we go. My little one and I are early risers (ok, HE'S an early riser, I'm just forced to be one! LOL) and so I was wondering if there are places nearby (like Shoney's, McD's, Krispy Kreme, etc.) that he and I could get breakfast early and then bring something back to big brother and daddy who are 'sleeping in'. (Sleeping in for this trip will probably be until 8am most days, I know we'll want to get to the parks early!)

And along with that; if we pay to valet park do you have unlimited in/out privileges? I'm thinking it's worth paying the extra $ to have them just bring the car to me for these trips.

I wouldn't want to go every day but some days...little ds likes to get up and go, go, go, goooooo! LOL

Thanks!

The only donut shop I saw nearby was a Dunkin on International Drive. I told my husband that people must not eat them down there because for a resort area, they sure were hard to come by! If I owned a donut shop, I'd slip the advertisement under the door like the pizza guys do---I'd be RICH! LOL

There is McD's, Taco Bell, KFC on International drive---most everything is on Int'l Drive.

Valet parking is $22 PER DAY...versus $15 PER DAY to self park. I think they're both outrageous prices! They will ask you upon checkin are you self parking or using valet so they can add it to your bill. You use your room key to get in and out of the gate.

Oh yeah, I believe it's unlimited privileges....but I'm sure they're awaiting a tip for each time you take the car out.

We had a car service with a grocery stop, and bought muffins, doughnuts, milk etc and kept in a nice styrofoam cooler ($4.99) at publix, just iced it down daily and it was fine. Towards the end of the week, we ran out, so I went down to the Continental and bought a couple of good large doughnuts, a big hot cinnamon roll, and a bagel with cream cheese and took back to the room on a tray, they also had to go containers with lids. It cost $10.00. We had drinks in room already.

We went to Islands dining at RPR this past week for the breakfast buffet and its about $16.95 an adult but the food is really great and they have just about anything you want and it was actulally the second cheapest meal we had onsite or at citywalk :thumbsup2

a check breakfast is at pastamore.
