Breakfast at Kona - need an ADR?

We're staying at the Poly for our first trip to the world. I've got several ADR's made for various meals already.

But, when we go in Nov, we'll be out late at the MVMCP on Friday, with plans to sleep late Saturday morning and make a late entry to AK.

I'd like to go to Kona from breakfast before we go. But, I don't want to lock into an ADR time as I don't know if we'll sleep late and go to breakfast at 10am, or if we'll be up early and ready for breakfast at 8am.

If I just show up at Kona some time during the morning without an ADR for breakfast, will I have a chance to get a table in a reasonable time? Reading the dining threads and all the hassles people run into with not being able to get into sit down places due to no ADR's has me spooked.

I would get an ADR at a time you think your family will most likely be available to eat. If you are ready earlier, go to the podium and ask if it can be changed to an earlier time and vice versa. They might be more willing to help since you have an ADR already in place versus trying to be a walk-up.

Good luck!

I would get an ADR and then just plan to get up at that time.

With the extention of free dining, I would rather plan ahead then get stuck without one.

I'd make an ADR for 10ish and then if see you can move it earlier if necessary.
I've done that and it worked out well.

PS: Kona is the BEST breakfast!!

We will be trying our first breakfast there in November. We are staying at Boardwalk and plan to cut through Epcot and take the monorail over to TTC and walk over from there. (Well, I will be using a scooter so "walk" is a relative term - but the scooter is also why we are taking this route and not a bus to MK - I avoid loading the scooter as much as possible) Since Epcot doesn't open until 9, and we don't know how long it will take to make this trip, we have made our ADR for 10:15. Hopefully if it is a quicker trip they will let us in earlier and we can get on with our day. But I have been wanting to try the famous Tonga Toast forever and finally convince DH that we should have breakfast there. :cool1:

DW had her first Tonga Toast last month and was quite impressed - quick warning - the thing is BIG! As in, you'll look at it and say I heard it was big, but this is HUGE! :goodvibes

Definitely want to have ADR's though - we had ours for 7:40 on a non early entry day for MK and there were people without ressies lined up waiting for a table already.
