Breakfast at Kona.....let's grab a table!!

Good morning and Happy 2sday!!:teeth;

2x2s:: I also noticed your words were bleeped out and wondered how you spelled ****.:confused3..(OK, now I know you spelled it right!!:lmao:).. We may have to take a road trip to Lamberts. I think I know somebody that lives just a couple of hours from Springfield, Mo.

YourMajesty:: I hope last weekend was definitely the farthest we are going to have to travel. I'm thinking the two hour trips are going to be a piece of cake.:thumbsup2

Michele:: How is Lilly doing? Still improving, I hope.:goodvibes

Lesa:: Last time you posted you mentioned you didn't feel so good. Hope you're feeling better.
How are the girls? I can't believe it's almost May; just one month left of school!!:teacher:

I hope you all have a Tiggerific Tuesday!!:tigger::tigger::tigger:

Happy Monday, everyone!!

Wow!! What a weekend!! We got home last night right before 10pm. Gary opted to work from home this morning when his alarm went off. I really don't have that option, so here I am. I hope Nathan is rested when he gets up this morning.

Our 4th grade boys came home with 2nd place. They went into overtime and lost by about 6 points against a pretty tough 5th grade team. Our parents gave them a standing ovation and yelled "WE"RE SO PROUD OF OUR 4TH GRADERS!!
Most of the parents and players along with the coach and his family went to Lamberts....Home of the Throwed rolls. The boys thought this was a hoot and wanted to try to catch them with their mouths. Thank goodness they didn't actually try it.:scared::rotfl2:pirate:

Linda:: Sounds like you have been one busy lady!! Yep, I think you need a littlle WDW break soon!!:woohoo::woohoo:
Way to go Nathan!! that is awesome:cool1::woohoo::yay::banana::cheer2:

does sound like a busy weekend!

Yeah, its been busy here studying and lots of homework to get done...but I've been trying to get it all done:woohoo:

I think so too! I think I'm going to skip taking any classes this summer except my STNA class June 30-July 23...maybe then I can sneak down:rolleyes1:cloud9:

hey kids!!

thank you all for the beautiful cakes!!! You've ondone yourselves!!!:love:

I had an okay weekend--again, making sure the house was **** and span as I left each day.:headache:
I hung out with my mom yesterday--just shopped a little and went to a late lunch/early dinner at a place called Bravo. It is owned by the Brio chain. It was just okay. I think I ordered the wrong thing, or I just didn't know what I was in the mood for.:confused3
I really wanted to drive to Ste. Gevevieve--to one of my favorite little shops, but being about an hour and 1/2 away, time didn't allow. I'll have to save it for another weekend.

Photos are being taken of the house today, so I'm a bit nervous.

have a great day and I'll try to check in sometime through the week.
you know we try:cloud9::hug:

lots of prayers and pixy dust your house sells quickly!:cheer2: I'm sure it'll be fine:yay:

Not much to report around here...hope everyone is off to a good week.:)

sometimes "not much" is a good thing:laughing: yesterday a girl next to me was coughing and the teacher came to check if she had a fever to make sure maybe she didn't have the "swine flu":scared: goodness, that's all we need to worry about!

hey guys---

I'm at work and don't have baking capabilities, but wanted to wish Miss Linda a BIG

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

hope you have a great day!!!!

gotta run before I get caught.:scared1:

Lilly is doing great. Her cough has come back a little but otherwise she is wonderful.

Matt is improving too. He played basketball Tuesday night and baseball last night. He still needs to build up his stamina. But otherwise is doing good.

It has been crazy busy around here but I am keeping up on all the news.

Have a great day

First off I have to apologize to Linda. I really thought of her birthday last week, but with the hectic weekend I totally forgot!!:sad1:
Nathan had to work on a science project about the zones of the ocean; he picked the Dark Zone. We had to finish the diarama last night, because tonight is ball practice and the project is due tomorrow.

I'll post a little breakfast, then Linda can enjoy her cake!!:woohoo:

Lesa, those pics are too cool!!

Ym...can you believe I had to take an EXAM:sad2:geesh!!! and in microbiology even!! but, I think I did pretty well on it, so I'll let them count it :rotfl: How are you, HisYm and the boys? Kenny has been asking about them and when we can go again! I told him...maybe when I get a JOB:laughing:

you guys don't have to apologize!! just another year older, Kenny asked me if I slept better last night since I was now 32:laughing: he's so rotten!

I'm so glad to hear Lilly and Matt are starting to feel better!

VERY cute cakes!! thanks so much guys!!

Donna, his project sounds too cool! Sun. I took Kenny to see Earth while the race was on ;) and it was cool, if you like animals etc. Kenny really enjoyed it, but they previewed Earth Day next year they're coming out w/ Oceans! It looked awesome!

thanks again guys! you're so wonderful and I appreciate you all so much:hug:

Good morning!

Linda sorry you had to take an exam on your birthday! I'm sure you did great!:cheer2:

Michele I'm glad Lilly and Matt are feeling better!:)

I have a small ok big vent about Madison's teacher! I'm sitting here trying to resist going into school to ring her neck! For some reason this teacher cannot follow the IEP even after we have had meeting after meeting this year. Now I always know when something has happened at school as she totally acts out and it takes me a few days to get her to finally tell me what happened. Well yesterday was a really bad day for her (mouthy, screaming, throwing things...it gets ugly) anyway this morning she finally broke down and told me what happened at school. Part of her IEP is for writing, well I guess she sat there and didn't write anything when she was suppose to so the teacher punished her by taking away 2 tickets she had earned.:furious: Now she was told at the beginning of the year when she punished her for something else that it was never to happen again only positive reinforcement was to be used. Now she is not a bad child in school, in fact she follows the rules to a T because she does not like to be in trouble and called out in front of her peers. Then I guess the teacher ignored the fact she was crying and made her go to the end of the line which upset her even more. I don't even know how she thought it would be a good idea to punish her for not writing and then crying. :furious: Now to top all this off, she has been told that if something off happens at school she is to notify me so I am aware as she does act out at home, that did not happen either.:sad2: At the last IEP meeting a month ago we discussed with them that she was diagnosed with mild aspergers as well as a processing disorder. We stressed how important it was to follow everything in the IEP not just the writing part. Still it is not being followed. I swear it's like beating my head against a wall! Well we are looking into getting an outside advocate to make sure the school follows everything, take that school! :snooty:

Now I feel better! Time to call the school!:teacher:

Lesa...I'm so sorry!!! I know this has been so frustrating for you, and poor Maddie:guilty::sad1:I wish I could just come give you a big hug:hug:

Hi friends!

It's a rainy day here...just hoping we don't wash away.:scared1:

Lesa...sorry to hear about Maddie. Just a few more weeks and it will be time for a nice summer break which I'm sure both of you will enjoy!

Linda...that is plain wrong to have a test on your birthday...did you tell you teacher it was your birthday?;) I'm glad you will have a little break this summer...you can use it!

Ok, I just can't believe this school year is almost over. This was the fastest year yet...I guess they will all be like a blink now that I'm getting so advanced in age.:rolleyes1 I finally enrolled the boys in some private swim lessons but I haven't heard back from their instructor...it's through the Y and they always seem a little disorganized. I think there are some better programs to try if I was willing to drive a little further. We'll see how it goes.

Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend!:woohoo:

it sure is! Nah, I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday, I'll leave that for the kiddo's:laughing: Yeah... I think I'll need it:rotfl: I did get an 87 on my micro exam:yay:

advanced in age:rotfl:you got awhile my dear!!

OH....they changed Mikes meds...and no dementia:cool1::banana:
His teacher at tutoring today said she could already tell the difference...he just changed Wed!:eek:wow:yay:

2x...you didn't have to do that:hug: thank you so much and I agree.... one of these years it'll be DCL to celebrate:cool2::woohoo::cool1:

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend:yay::banana::cheer2:
Kenny has a soccer game at 2pm..nothing like RIGHT in the middle of the day:sad2:oh well...you'll have that! Last night they played a team that has twin girls in the team...they're one of my friends twins, and one of our boys is just yelling.."omg..they have GIRLS on their team:scared1:":lmao:it was funny, but they still didn't let them win. I think it was 3-1. The coach made a big deal of Kenny always being in position, that he'll always be playing as long as he doesn't need a break:cloud9:that was nice but Kenny played cool like it was no big deal:cool2::laughing:

Good morning!

Linda that is wonderful news that Mike is doing better.:yay::hug: It is amazing what some meds can do to you. I was on Topamax (also known as the "stupid" drug) for my migraines it was awful. I would get in the car to go somewhere (like pick the kids up for school) and forget where I was going. I couldn't remember anything. At first they said it couldn't be the medicine then I looked it up and found it was nicknamed the "stupid" drug. Once I stopped taking it I was amazed how quickly my brain fog cleared! I still have memory problems, but I don't think I can blame the medicine anymore!:rolleyes1

Great job on you test!!!:cheer2:

Today we are going to work on finishing up painting in the living room from he77! Then we move up the stairs and work in the hallway. That should not take the months the living room has taken (I hope). Then we have a Cinco de Mayo party to go to.

We are convinced Britt had the swine flu when she came home from Guatemala as she had all the symptoms! :scared1:  Really this whole swine thing is driving me nuts. They are now recommending schools with confirmed cases to close for 14 days. :scared1:  Normally I am a hypochondriac when it comes to germs and I am a chronic wash your hand bleach everything kind of person. I am finding this whole thing a little ridiculous as there are only 141 confirmed mild cases in this country. Must they cause such mass hysteria? They make it sound like we need to lock ourselves in our homes and not go out until the coast is clear.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :flower3:

:scared1:omg Lesa...that is what they switched him too:eek:oh gosh!!:headache::scared:they took him off Lyrica and switched it to Topimax! I sure hope he doesn't have side effects from it now! he did say he felt like he was floating and a headache, but thought b/c they were weining him from one to the other! Yikes!

thanks...I'll take it:yay:

I know what you mean, I think everyone is freaking b/c its something new noone is familiar with. we've been talking about it in microbiology. how overused antibiotics are and how virus' can mutate into other strains that our body can't as easily defend or detect. one of the worst things we can do is OVER USE antibiotics, it was like 50% of the prescriptions were for things that antibiotics won't help for anyway:mad:b/c dr's offices are so full that the dr's would rather give you a script and send you on your way than to take the time to explain that antibiotics won't help and it needs to run its course. then when they are for something antibiotics do help, we don't realize the importance of using as prescribed...we start feeling better, we stop using them...or we take more/less dosage than required etc.
they're given to animals to stop infection and promote growth! sorry...micro rant there:laughing: guess I'm learning though:rotfl:

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! I better go see how my man Jeff Gordon is doing:cheer2:

Hi, everyone!!

I'm sorry I got a little behind in the posting. Seems like I've been having problems finding the time to get on the old computer very much.

Lesa:: That stinks about Maddie's teacher. What does she think she is going to accomplish by upsetting Madison the way she did. Hugs to you.:hug:
Have fun at your Cinco de Mayo party!!

Linda:: That is great news about Mike!!:thumbsup2 I'm so relieved to hear it was just the meds.
That Kenny!! So.....do you sleep better now that you are the ripe old age of 32?:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

YourMajesty:: I sure hope you don't float away with all the rain!! I am sooo sick of this weather. I want some warm weather and sunshine.:sunny:
Way to go for signing the boys up for swimming lessons!!:woohoo:

I spoke with 2x2s this morning. She told me to tell everyone "HI" and she doubted that she would be at her parents' house this evening to post. She is pretty worried about getting busted at work, too.:surfweb::cool2:

How about a little virtual evening snack? It's been so long since I've had pizza; I could probably eat the whole thing!! popcorn::

I hope you all have a wonderful evening!!:goodvibes

Happy Sunny Sunday

This was our very busy weekend. Yesterday morning we started the Relay for Life 24 hour walk. When I say 'we' I don't mean 'me' :rolleyes1 Well I walked a little. The football team was one of the teams that did it up at the city park. I was asked by the coach to be one of the team captains. Which mainly meant that for the last few months I have been going to meetings. yippee.

Most teams have a group of people and take turns doing the walking. Not our boys. They said they were going to walk the whole 24 hours. Most pooped out in the middle of the night, including Matt (the mono --he just has no stamina yet) But 2 of them walked the entire 24 hours!!! 150 laps around, that they measured to be 48 MILES!!!!! They wore their football jerseys so everyone could see what team they were with. They usually walked in a pack. #21 and the boy in the green jacket walked the whole thing. Matt is just behind #23

Last evening and again today we had people that live across from the park and people from the other teams come find us to tell us how proud we should be of the boys for their attitude and commitment.:cheer2:

Sat started with a survivors lap. The first lap of the event was led by cancer survivors. My mom and dad both walked. By the time she got back around to our tent she joked 'wouldn't be a shame if the walk killed her!!':rotfl2:
We all cheered on the survivors.
